<p>Kakashi remembered his team before he died and he did remember Naruto's generation as well, then he died and met his father. </p>

<p>Kakashi was the only one that Kishi focused on him since he is a main character, we don't know what happened to others like Shizune. Also this could be a characteristic to the Edo Tensei, that those who have been brought with it don't remember what had happened between. And we are not sure if Kakashi still remember what happened with his father. Anyway I think this deserve its on article. </p>

<p>I don't doubt that, I doubt existence of afterlife where souls are conscious. Those revived by Edo Tensei suggest otherwise. Not only don't they remember being dead but also are confused. </p>

<p>Just remembered something: When Nagato used Rinne Tensei, all the souls of the dead villagers (including kakashis) came back from the mouth of the Enma statue! So what if actually, the souls of everyone who is killed by a Pain go into Enma's 'territory' first instead of directly into pure land? This could be exactly the in-between stage Kakashi was in, allowing him to remain conscious to some extend. Also, if i'm not mistaken, didn't Kabuto mention he would have Nagato kill Naruto and Bee to then 'store' their souls inside the Enma and later revive them... </p><p>Speculative i know, but it may be a possible explanation for why Kakashi was conscious and Edos weren't. </p>
