I think what LegionZero means is that a flame is physically there. And chakra that takes on the characteristics of fire obviously needs matter to burn off from.

<p>Guys don't bring physics into this...Kishi hates physics. Besides we're talking about black flames from hell that never burn. </p><p>1. Fire cannot be black because it produces light. 2. Fire requires fuel to burn, but Amaterasu never goes out. </p><p>Furthermore, Darui has a black lightning, are we gonna say that's the same thing as Amaterasu? </p><p>Its a moot point not worth arguing over. </p>

<p>Ummm regardless if its a work of fiction physics still apply to some degree. Of course Kishi gets to cheat a bit, chakra helps. </p><p>1. Amaterasu is the ONLY fire in the series that is black. That's why this conversation exists. Pakura's Scorch Release is white in the center so things in the Naruto Universe get whiter as they get hotter. Making the fact that Amaterasu is black even more peculiar. it burns for up to 7 days and 7 nights. </p><p>2. If you need fuel. Chakra, or whatever it touches acts as fuel, another property unique to Amaterasu. </p><p>Darui has black lightning. So that is what we will say. The only thing that sets it apart from regular lightining release is that it is black. It behaves in the same way as other Lightning attacks </p>

<p>I don't think Yin is involved. Black Lightning is well, black and neither 3rd Raikage or Darui know Yin Release, unless the databook is once again wrong, which isn't out of the question. </p><p>In my honest opinion, I think the databook simply messed up and Blaze is still Fire+Lightning. </p><p>Oh and it also messed up about Magnet, which is Wind+Lightning. Magnet Release creates no tangible substance, it makes invisible magnetic energy that manipulates stuff by magnetizing it first. Wind+Earth would produce matter. </p>

<p>Well perhaps there is more than one version of Magnet release? No one ever stated that mixing two elements wouldn't produce similar results as another mix. Both could be possible, just in different formats. As for Blaze, the chakra balance could be, say, 97% Yin and only 3% Yang. Each Jutsu has a specific balance of chakra required to perform. Blaze however, probably isn't an advanced element Elve. Advanced Elemental Natures are of the body, so wouldn't Amaterasu be a Senju jutsu if that was the case? Other than Sasuke's statement, everything else said and shown is there. Fire and Wind mix to make Scorch, but what would Fire+Lightning mix with Wind into? I doubt Scorch. </p>

<p>The Katon(Fire release) in a nutshell allows the release and handling of the fire, according to various temperatures it change the color of the flame: orange, red, blue ... to the black flames (Amaterasu). Technique that has been classified as the most powerful technique of Katon (I think from the second databook). Amaterasu is created with the katon but it can't be manipulated (see Itachi), because of its high amount of energy that releases. Enton (Blaze release) is like an invisible force/energy that stabilizes and is able to control the flame of Amaterasu. According to this theory the Enton is an element given by the union of Fire + Lightning (lightning is energy). So the Enton is like one of those forces that affect atomic level that can stabilize the amaterasu and controlling it. Being that the Amaterasu and reachable only by the power of sharingan is logical that the Enton is closely connected to the sharingan. </p>

<p>Black Lightning could just be Hiden. The inly difference seems to be the color. It lacks any other special properties. </p><p>Fire gets closer to white as it gets hotter, so thats a no go </p><p>Kagetsuchi is shape transformation, not nature transformation. Amaterasu is nature transformation. Amaterasu is blaze release, therefore anything that uses Amaterasu is Blaze release. </p><p>Also Amaterasu/ Blaze release lacks any characteristics of lightning, so that doesn't work out either. </p><p>Amaterasu just falls into the smae category as Chidori, Raikiri, and Kirin in that it doesn't use the element name. </p>

<p>If i remember correctly, at one point it was said that Enton techniques are 'casting Amaterasu with the left eye and then controlling it (altering its shape/movement) with the right eye'. Now with Sasuke, in the right eye resides the technique Tsukuyomi (just as Amaterasu resides within his left eye), which is a genjutsu. And genjutsu is at least related to Yin release. So, in a very far fetched way, this theory could work, saying that Blaze is created when you alter fire (Amaterasu) by using Yin in some way (an application of Tsukuyomi). </p>
