The thing I like about Boruto, funny enough, was said in the SD spin off.

Sasuke told him his shadow clone size was pathetic since Naruto can make hundreds, which Boruto replies, it doesn't matter how much I make, as long as it gets the job done.

I hope Kishimoto applies that line of thinking if he ever continued the series, I don't want to see shadow clone spam, Boruto has too much potential for that. His prodigy status was depleted because he was extremely lazy, he found shortcuts, and never trained hard enough. Even after getting a Shishou, he still used the device to impress Sasuke so he wouldn't leave him.

He didn't believe in himself, and that's one of the core problems of his character which I admire.

The thing I don't like about the movie is the redemption of his character and his cheating, he does help against Momoshiki but it's not enough. Him making a regular Rasengan at the end isn't it either, he should of been shown fighting with his own skills.

You'll see what I mean when you watch the movie, there are things that Boruto does with the device that he can do on his own thanks to Sasuke. I think Kishimoto went overboard with the device, it overshadowed what he can really do and took away what really makes him special.

There is an interesting quote that leads me to believe if the series ever continued Boruto would inherit Naruto's Wind and Sasuke's lightning. He does seem to be a Ninjutsu type of Prodigy, though he does learn advanced weapon control from Sasuke.

I just hope Kishimoto would take full advantage of what Boruto has to offer to the series rather than being his father. He doesn't need shadow clones ... he doesn't need Wind release, or rasengan. Him having Gentle Fist, and Shuriken jutsu sets him apart from his father. They make him unique, and interesting on the battlefield.

I believed Boruto and Himawari, before we were getting spammed by trailers, weren't being used to their full potential, especially on the Hyuuga side. To my surprise, Kishimoto didn't leave them out that much, especially Naruto's daughter.

I just hope for the same treatment for Boruto and Sasuke's relationship, he doesn't want to be like Naruto, he wants to be more like Sasuke, and he wants to follow on his own path outside of his ancestors. Give him a sword, lightning release, give him something that connects with his Shishou and labels him as a real student of him outside of shuriken throwing.

Sasuke telling Boruto he needs to master Rasengan first, before he can accept him as a student was a let down. I don't see how that can be a requirement when Sasuke has so much to teach outside of those chidori/rasengan abilities. He could of learned his elemental nature and then figured out how to make unique jutsu from there with help.

Sigh
