ALL POSTSOrochimaru not seeing Kakashi's Sharingan before
<p>So according chapter 69, Orochimaru said that Kakashi didn't have a Sharingan back then when he saw him.
As we know Kakashi got the Sharingan at least in the Third War after that happened so many things Rin's death- at least many months after the Kanabi bridge incident, Obito appearing infront of the Ame Orphans, Yahiko's demise etc.
Minato most likely became a Hokage after the war, and Orochimaru was still in the village after that (at least for a short time, until the 3rd caught him red handed).
</p><p>So, jumping to the conclusion, is it mistake or Orochimaru just haven't seen Kakashi since before his mission at the Kannabi Bridge? What do you think?

<p>I'm not sure, I think either a non-Uchiha with a Sharingan or someone with only one Sharingan would be rare enough for Orochimaru to take notice.

</p><p>Probably something like how Might Guy was at the Chunin Exam at age 6 and didn't become a Genin till 7. A.K.A. A continuity error.

</p><p>Naruto didn't know about Asumas relation to Hiruzen and they lived in the same place for a very long time. Most people didn't know about Naruto being a jinchuriki either.

<p>First of all you're meaning to tell me that Orochimaru who lived in the Leaf Village for 4 years after the war wouldn't have known that Kakashi had the Sharingan when it is stated that Kakashi became famous for it in all lands because of said Sharingan? That makes no sense. We are talking about Orochimaru here. If it was someone with little to no intelligence or completely lacked any memory like Guy for example then that could work. But it isn't this is Orochimaru. </p><p>Secondly, both situations involving Naruto are completely different. In the first case, Naruto can't register anything really. He thought Kurenai was fat when she was obviously pregnant, you mean to tell me we're judging things off of that? I mean Naruto is famously stupid, it would be like trying to say who is memorable based off of Might Guy, that is going to fail so many memorable people. </p><p>Also onto the Jinchuriki thing a lot of people knew about it hence why Naruto was hated so much early on in his life. If we're talking about his parentage, that was a national cover up that I would argue was a horribly kept secret as a lot of people knew about it even in foreign lands. </p><p>I guess saying it was a plot error is incorrect, some of the background details behind the conversation were retconned. </p>

</p><p>Unless you can prove he became famous for it within 4 years you AND that Orochimaru met him during that time, then there is no error or retcon, because nothing previously established has been changed or come in to conflict with.
