<p>Itachi is getting his own anime in spring 2016, it's not confirmed whether or not this will be part of shippuden. the anime will be based off of two paper back novels released in Japan.
</p><p>Honestly I am looking forward to this, Itachi has always been tied with Sasuke and Madara as my favourite character, so him getting his own anime is awesome.

<p>Would be nice to watch, but I wonder too if it'll be a separate adaptation or they'll animate it as the part of Naruto Shippuden (filler) series. Personally, I think it should be separated from Shippuden cause we already have too many fillers and there's no sign they'll end soon. Also currently I see no way how Itachi's theme could be brought up in Shippuden again.
