<p>There is a misconception that with the Totsuka blade and the Yata Mirror Itachi is invincible and no one can defeat him. But that is completely false.
</p><p>By that logic the invincible Kaguya would have never been sealed, the Ten Tails would have never been defeat by Hagaromo and Hamura nor restrained by Hashirama, Pain would have not lost against Naruto, and Madara's perfect susanoo sword would be able to destroy everything when it couldn't destory a wood golem.
</p><p>Yes the Totsuka blade is an extremely powerful weapon that seals anything it pierces. However since it's a sword it has a certain range. It's not something that can extend to any length chosen by the user. Further more the blade can be dodged, like any other sword. Nor is there any evidence that it can pierce a susanoo or other things just as hard or harder with one stab.
</p><p>The third databook claims that the Yata Mirror is invincible and that nothing can get past it. Well even so you can attack Itachi's feet so therefore he can be pulled from the susanoo. However just regarding the databooks, the databooks are used to supplement the manga only. The manga, canon movies, and anime trump the databooks as databooks just explain certain things that weren't made clear in the original material. They are not some infallable books. If that were true all tailed beasts would be mindless monsters, anyone with a higher stat rating than Itachi would win, Kurama would be the only one to know the origin of the sharingan, etc. While the Yata Mirror was never retconned, it never has been used after the Itachi vs Sasuke fight. You see it when Itachi fights Pain but it never was used. Now going by the logic before Madara's perfect susanoo sword would pierce the shield considering it can destroy all things in the universe (I think that if the mirror did get hit by Madara's sword enough times it would shatter). We have never seen the Yata Mirror being used to defend anything other than a couple of paper bombs. Itachi's susanoo was also utterly destroyed by Kirin so where was the Yata Mirror then?
</p><p>My interpretation is that previous databook information is outdated if retconned in future databooks. Since these things get updated unless the manga or anime support the claims of the databook then I am under the belief that the claim should be disregarded. Going back to the Yata mirror only the databook really says how invincible the mirror is supposed to be, Black Zetsu only says that it can withstand the five elements.

<p>That was with Hag's special chakra gift in his system. Naruto had that same special gift at that time too. No proof he was going as fast as he can either, he simply figured out Sasuke's warp range and got out of it(mind you he figured it out in seconds)
</p><p>So back on topic, just because its later in the series and characters are older, does not mean they are as strong as when they each had half of Hag's special chakra from him personally in them. It also does not mean Itachi is weaker or slower or anything. You NEVER saw him serious and fighting all out, you also NEVER saw him with real intent to kill or intent to defeat no matter what.

<p>@NinjaofWar Sasuke did not blind side Madara. Madara was fully aware Sasuke was chasing after him. Not only that Madara turned around and saw Sasuke charge him, if you see the fight it seems like he could have reacted but he didn't. He complimented Sasuke's speed, (a TTJ Madara who could avoid flying thunder god attacks), further more he can be on par with SPSM Naruto and no way is Itachi as fast as Naruto or a Flying Thunder God User.

I call crap on that, there have been sufficient feats, bisecting Madara fighting Kinshiki, fighting and fighting alongside Naruto, his Rinnegan jutsu. Even so where is your feat displaying any speed feats from Itachi. All we hear about Itachi is hype. Nothing shows that Itachi is capable of keeping up with Sasuke in power or speed at all, other than hype. I seriously doubt Itachi would also find out the warp range before being killed by a surprise attack from Sasuke. Itachi is seriously in capable of taking Sasuke's Rinnegan, the same logic can be used for Sasuke stealing Itachi's eyes. You also claim plot convenience. Well that same plot convenience also makes Sasuke stronger. Certain events made Sasuke much more powerful, he has those abilities get over it. We seee Itachi fighting serious against Kabuto and in the new Itachi shinden against various other opponents. Just because we haven't seen Itachi fight serious against Zuess doesn't mean he can't seal him with his blade, that's the same logic you're using here. You have to use feats, VS BATTLES ARE NOT BASED OFF OF HYPE. Itachi is incapable of winning against current Sasuke.

<p>Let's be serious, there is no real "winner" or "loser" in this discussion, it's something about claims and guesses, something we haven't seen written down in stone, so people see it through their own perspectives and take a stance they are the most content with. That's called having an opinion and the only problem here is that apparently nobody can accept anybody else having one that differs from their own. I find that really sad.
</p><p>In my case, ever since the battle Itachi & Sasuke vs. Kabuto, I saw Itachi from a different perspective. Before that battle, he seemed to me like this good-hearted, strong, perfect character that was the best in everything there is. The battle against Kabuto however proved that that's not the case at all, he still rocks, but without Sasuke, he would've had lost or at least failed his objective. Itachi isn't perfect, he even admitted so himself, so I can fully understand why people want to gather to find and discuss these flaws. And it convinced me, mostly the points Gmanis41, Marc Zaddy and BakumatsuWarrior were pointing out. I still like Itachi a lot, but the points mentioned made sense to me, so I will keep them in mind.

<p>@Gmanis Grow up and if you can't do that then get lost. Sasuke after losing Hag's chakra has shown no speed feats better than his MS speed feats. His little warp tech and his vs Kaguya and vs Naruto moments don't even count since those were only usable thanks to his massive and empowering, temporary chakra gift from the damn SoSP himself. Itachi AS AN EDO TENSEI had to PROTECT an EMS Wielding 4th War Sasuke MULTIPLE times vs Kabuto.. AND he was the one who controlled, then ended that fight, completing the goals of saving Kabuto and Sasuke, AND ending Edo Tensei. You severely downplay Itachi, somebody who even Obito knew not to try and kill. Itachi is not the same and is not like any other character shown. He is simply somebody who is most always steps ahead in a battle and people NEVER figure out his plans or his tactics until it is far too late. Kabuto, Orochimaru are two examples of people who knew all about him yet were fooled and defeated. Sasuke has more chakra and more destruction capable dojutsu for sure.. but if thats all it ever took to win in the Shinobi Universe than things would of been much different. Not to mention Sasuke only has one arm 17yrs old going forward. You're just mad that your biased speculation hasn't been universally accepted or agreed with. Childish.

Madara's PS and Hashirama's Wood golem is several times bigger. They could literally squash Itachi and his Susano'o like a bug or swat him like a fly. So many absurd claims, I really hope people are trolling. Itachi has some serious wankers, it kinda demotes him as a character.

<p>@QuakingStar Don't be butthurt because Itachi is garbage compared to the top tiers in Naruto. Face reality and facts, Madara stomps, Kaguya stomps, Hagoromo stomps, Current Naruto and Sasuke stomp, Momoshiki stomps and your only basis of an argument for Itachi winning any fight against a top tier is because his Susano'o (Which is incredibly small.) can vaguely deflect elemental attacks. There's a whole laundry list of people who can defeat Itachi. Lol, demi-gods and the gods of the verse would laugh at Itachi.
</p><p>Itachi has poor stamina reserves, even if Itachi could deflect any and all attacks (In which is a HUGE stretch to say the very least but I'm being generous. But everyone knows that it's bs.) he couldn't keep it up for no more than five minutes I promise you, most people could outlast him. Then people say "Prime Itachi." Like it makes that big of a difference. Too bad he still suffers from bad stamina and low chakra reserves, he casted Tsukyomi on Kakashi then did Amateratsu and had to flee because he was running low. Itachi is near fodder to top tiers, and that's just the truth. I don't care how much you love him or get butthurt over it but that's just the truth, now if you wanna accept it or not is entirely up to you. This discussion is absolutely ridiculous thinking Itachi can deflect a TBB or truth seeking orbs, they'd destroy him and his Susano'o on contact. What an absurd claim to say the least, the Itachi wanking needs to stop.
