<p>so i believe that the Rinnegan can only be awakened in an Uchiha if they have Indra's chakra and Asura's chakra or Indra's chakra and six paths chakra.
</p><p>If a Senju or Uzumaki were to inherit the Rinnegan they'd have to have Asura's Chakra and steal an Uchiha's eyes with Indras Chakra to gain Rinnegan.
</p><p>So sasuke only got rinnegan because of Indra's chakra in his eyes reacting to six paths chakra from hagoromo.
</p><p>remember both naruto and sasuke were given half of hagoromo's chakra so even if sasuke recieved primarily yin it still had parts of yang in it because hagoromos chakra is too blurred together to be that detailed to separation meaning sasuke probably was exposed to yang oriented elements in the chakra to gain rinnegan.

</p><p>Sasuke/Indra Chakra + Mangekyou + Six Paths Chakra = Rinnegan

</p><p>Obito/Asura Chakra + Mangekyou + Six Paths Chakra = No Rinnegan
</p><p>Yes obito did possess a Rinnegan, but it was NOT his. So what i am coining is that an uchiha can only awaken Rinnegan without asuras chakra if they are an incarnation of Indra and recieve the six paths chakra.

Sasuke received Hashirama cells from Kabuto.

Sasuke received FLESH from Kabuto. It was never stated or implied that it was Hashi's cells. At least from how I understand it. Just because you yourself possess someone else's DNA doesn't always mean that you'll transfer it to another person if you give them part of your flesh.

<p>It takes way too long for hashi cells to cultivate with the Mangekyou Sharingan for Obito to have awaken his own rinnegan at the point/age we saw him in. He would have had to live like 15-20 years longer for it to have done that.
