I would say Team Kurenai. Shino's bugs can bypass Shikamaru's shadows, Kiba and Akamaru can probs be equal with Choji, Hinata can evade Ino's mind thingo by looking at the incoming chakra. Kurenai can also do a long range genjutsu locking Asuma's movements, then defeat him (or seduce him if you want). </p>

<p>Team Asuma. Their team is entirely dedicated to teamwork and synergy. Their combo would wreck the other team pretty fast, and i don't really see them stopping the yoyo attack, especially if Asuma uses ash to obscure Shikamaru and Ino from sight to defend against Genjutsu (since Ino can just sense minds). Hinata's the only one who can reliably see through it (and if it's actual ash, Kiba's not smelling anything), but can't rely that information without fault. </p><p>So basically, yoyo formation and Asuma defends Shikamaru/Ino. </p>

<p>I agree with this. The only threat I see coming from Team Kurenai is Kurenai herself and Hinata. Hinata's ability to sense incoming chakra and Kurenai's genjutsu skills are the only things that would cause problems. Aside from that, Team Asuma would take this, they always a great sense of unity and know how to work together in battles. Also, Shikamaru will most probably end up having a few possible scenarios as to how to negate the powers of each member of Team Kurenai or do it all together with all members. </p>

<p>yea actually about that, Naruto hasn't solo'd an Akatsuki member. Kakuzu already had a whole fight, Nagato already had a fight + Naruto had a bunch of intel on him that others payed with their lives for, and Obito required an entire alliance. So yea, that's actually pretty damn impressive from Shikamaru. </p>

<p>Actually, Shikamaru fought both Hidan and Kakuza with the rest of his team and Kakashi. He also had a lot of intel on Hidan and had a very detailed plan with lots of steps to defeat them. So he didn't solo Hidan. Shino on the other hand never really had an opportunity to fight an Akatsuki member (Tobi and Konan don't count). Shino is super strong and would have made all the difference in the Sasuke retrieval squad. </p>
