<p>Hiruzen Sarutobi was hailed as a God of Shinobi, a Genius, and a researcher. This threads purpose is to compile Manga and Databook info on Hiruzen and show his strength in more detail from statements and feats too. Translations from the translators would be appreciated too.

<p>Hiruzen is said to surpass Tobirama at a young age. There can be 2 strongest Hokage and 2 God of Shinobi Hokage, ya know how?? By them being tied. Also this is not a Hiruzen opinions thread.

<p>I've never seen anything to say Hiruzen surpassed Tobirama. If you provide it I will concede. And yes there can be multiple Gods of Shinobi. And alright, I won't discuss my opinions any further however this will turn into an opinions thread whether you like it or not. Because the facts about Hiruzen's battle capacity are lacking completely. Just because an extra source of information (even if it was written by the author) provides some extra context to the story does not mean it is always going to be up to date

<p>It seems that Hiruzen's strength lies in his knowledge, not his raw power. His strength isn't like Hashirama but more like Kakashi's. It's a more subtle strength, which more or less automatically means people don't appreciate it.

<p>If you actually look at the stuff Hiruzen does, then there's nothing that disproves he has power. Hashirama doesn't pull out a True Several Thousand Hands at every turn. Similarly, Hiruzen never pulled out serious jutsu at every turn. </p><p>Furthermore, the idea that the First and Second were revived the first time at a fraction of their power is entirely fan interpretation. Orochimaru was controlling both, why would he make Hashirama pull out a Giant Budda if that would destroy the barrier he put up? Why would Hiruzen destroy the barrier, since it was also protecting Konoha from annihilation? <p>Which goes both ways: there's nothing to suggest how strong he actually is. He fought a smaller Several Thousand Hands, but all we saw of that was him using a few elements and then Karin destroyed the construct. Hiruzen was destroyed by Obito early in the fight, and spent most of the entire Juubi storyline apparently regenerating (as he's completely unseen). </p><p>As i said, Hiruzen's strength (Judging by his titles and what little we've seen) seem to lie in knowledge and versatility, which are immensely useful. But since it's not flashy, the fanbase automatically writes it off as weak. Same reason people consider Tsunade to be a weak hokage, because her strength isn't summoning 30+meter constructs. </p>

<p>Ha ha thanks. Yea sadly the fandom seems to favor flashy power significantly over actual power. Gaara couldn't dent a Susanoo. The Raikage couldn't dent a Susanoo. Mei and Tsunade both destroyed one. Yet i see them being accused of being weak. </p>

<p>Tsunade destroyed a miniature Susanoo with the aid of the Raikage. I have no doubt she could have done it alone, but I'm quite sure, so could A. She has never even made a "dent" in a giant version. She could break their swords though and could knock the humanoid Susanoo down (though I believe that part was anime only).
</p><p>As for on topic, we have yet to see Hiruzen fighting in his prime and thus we have no proof to really discredit Hiruzen being the strongest Hokage. For all we know, he might have some super fuinjutsu that could swallow Hashirama's 1000 wood hands jutsu. We don't know. But, what we do know is clearly, the databooks weren't talking about old Hiruzen being the strongest Hokage or kage for that matter.

<p>Tsunade was able to cause an instant crack in Madara's miniature Susanoo, great enough that he regarded her as stronger than A. A, however, needed Onoki's help to break/crack through his Susanoo, both large and small. I don't think he could've done it alone. </p>
