<p>It has been purposely mentioned that he had Senju lineage and blood multiple times by BZ, Obito and I believe Kabuto. Outside of Madara only Nagato could use both Rinnegan, and Madara specifically chose Nagato as the new host since he was "the perfect host". If It could be any Uzumaki, then he had many options besides Nagato. Nagato's mother has Red hair is very likely where he gets his Uzumaki blood from while his father has black hair and black eyes and that is most likely where his Senju blood comes. Nagato seems to be like Tsunade and Nawaki and have both Senju and Uzumaki in him, making his chakra, blood and body more suited to the Rinnegan than somebody is just an Uzumaki. Thoughts would be appreciated

<p>All Uzumaki are VERY distantly related to the Senju. It was Kishimoto's cop-out to make Naruto relevant and tie into the Senju-Uchiha feud. Nagao is primarly an Uzumaki, though.

<p>Yes, I knew that. But only Nagato has been said to be from the Senju bloodline itself. In Naruto's case Obito only compared Sasuke to Madara(Uchiha) and Naruto to Hashirama(Senju). It was stressed that Nagato himself was the perfect host and he was chosen by Madara. If it could of been any Uzumaki then he could have chosen Kushina, or even waited a bit longer and got Karin or any of the other ones out there. I speculate Madara knew Nagato had Uzumaki mother and Senju father and that makes for the perfect host for the Rinnegan outside of its actual owner. Speculationa aside though, I wonder why only Nagato was said to be from the Senju bloodline etc while Naruto and others were not.

<p>Given that the Uzumaki and Senju had a history of cooperation and that it's been shown that they had marriages with each other, it's probable that Nagato simply comes from a line of Uzumaki-Senju marriages and so got the best of both worlds. <p>Well, a number of people were considered related to the Sage, even the Gold and Silver brothers. Considering that 1000 years went past, it's not weird that more than just the Senju trace back to him. I agree that it's not exactly elegantly done though. </p>

<p>I'm curious if gender has a part in it too. I mean the other Uzumaki that we know of are women and not like that are incapable of using powerful jutsu, but they seem either be the Jinchūriki or far more skilled with seals (atleast with the Uzumaki's we have seen). With Nagato not showing any particular skill in seals, at least at the same level he has the powerful charka and lifeforce, but doesn't have the same risk of possibly sealing the eye or sealing Madara, which seems like a reason enough to be the perfect host. This theory kinda applies to Naruto since he didn't show much skill in sealing either and while both lost their Uzamaki parents at a young age, they did grow up and still didn't show a lean towards sealing jutsu despite their family's talents in seals.

<p>They barely showed anything about him, let alone if he had much skill in sealing, we can't assume he was a master of sealing jutsu or that he was a natural with sealing jutsu, he could be he Clan leader based on age or experience rather then skill in sealing.

<p>fair enough but it still remains that his descendants on the male side don't seem to do much with sealing considering Uzamaki were masters of it, and they hailed from the land of whirlpools which was renown for their sealing techniques. </p>
