<p>Such a question, what makes you think that Release Yin and/or Yang is dealing with a change in the ratio of spiritual and physical energies in the chakra?

</p><p>The manga said that Hagoromo gave people chakra so they could connect to eachother. Instead, they strengthened and used it as a weapon.
</p><p>In chapter 665, which you cited earlier, Madara said this chakra originaly came from Hagoromo and on the next page explains that they used the chakra they recieved to connect thier inner energies to make their own chakra

<p>To make chakra, you need to connect the spiritual and phyical energies and the humans didn't know how to do that yet. Hagoromo was the one who showed them how through sharing some of his, they then starting doing it on their own now that they knew how.. the problem is that just like with the real world they weaponised whatever they could and that included the newly disovered to them "chakra". Honestly if it was real and us in the real world learned how to do it we would do the same things and its quite sad that humans see war and weaponization in everything.

<p>Creating the religion/philosophy afterwards doesnt necessarily mean that he wasnt spreading chakra beforehand. </p><p>Its also possible that Kaguya would give chakra so that people could be trapped in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and trapped in the Shinju roots, regaining whatever chakra she gave out </p>

People only create chakra when they are actively using a technique, and any leftover chakra they create is "wasted" (seemingly expelled from the body). </p><p>However, many other things in the series imply that people (and even animals) do have chakra in their passive state. For example, sensor types can detect people who aren't in battle, and the Eight Gates are implied to restrict the flow of chakra at all times. During Neji vs. Naruto, we see that people can't even stand if their chakra flow is blocked, implying there must be at least a little bit flowing through the body for it to function. </p><p>However, there are no explicit statements in the manga (or guidebooks as far as I can tell) that say humans or other living things passively produce chakra, so it's somewhat open to interpretation. </p>
