ALL POSTSAnyone else really hates the whole reincarnation thing with Asura and Indra?
<p>I don't know about others but I deeply loathe this concept; one of the worst retcons Kishi has ever done. The whole idea that Naruto and Sasuke should be reincarnations of ancient brothers just destroys the themes of the story. It makes their friendship seem fake and something they had no control of and was going to happen anyways. Their relationship is no longer organic and feels meaningless. also makes Sasuke's character seem contrived and silly. Like he never had a choice and he was bound to become a madman. And all efforts of Naruto and Sakura and others meant jackshit.
</p><p>This thing is even worse with Madara and Hashirama. Both characters were clearly retconned to fit the personalities. And also making Madara another 'sympathetic' villain was cringeworthy. He was such a horrible person from the start (letting his brother die instead of asking for Senju help) that it's hilarious how hard the narrative tries to paint him as well-intentioned. I don't know about others but I enjoyed Madara more as a ruthless cruel villain.
</p><p>At least his friendship with Hashirama feels fake and dumb and illogical. That one wasn't a loss. Maybe if that part of the story wired Madara and Hashirama hadn't been so rushed and underwritten, things would have made more sense.
</p><p>I really wish instead of Madara nonsense, we had seen more of Tobirama and Mito. Those two deserved to get more exposure.

<p>The reincarnation thing only meant that Naruto and Sasuke would be rivals. The fact that they had a friendship in the end made meant that they did have control becaise they were destined to hate eachother.
</p><p>Literally everything else that happened to Sasuke and all the choices he made were his. The path he walked was his own.
</p><p>The Uchiha and Senju were in war with eachother and Izuna rejected the help. Madara was honoring his brother's wishes. Izuna probably wouldnt have accepted the help and there was no guarentee he would be saved if he did.
</p><p>You are tripping about Madara and nobody made retcons to their characters. Madara was never a cold hearted madman and you just seem mad that he had a greater purpose and was an extremist instead of nutjob sadist like Hidan. And even as a well-intentioned extremist he still merced anyone in has way without a second thought, toying with most of his enemies so its not like his motives changed much about his approach to combat. If you dont think what he did to Obito and Rin was cruel then idk to tell you. Hashirama and Madara's relationship was explored fairly in-depth and far from underwritten.
</p><p>Honestly i dont know why you have such a boner over Mito. She had like 3 panels of screen time and none of it was about her being a badass. She isnt stated to be a major player at all in the series.

<p>The reincarnations mean they were blood brothers in former lives. As reincarnations, they were bound to befriend and have a fallout later.
</p><p>War doesn't make what Madaea did justifiable. He listened to his foolish brother and doomed him. And he has the nerve to blame others for it.
</p><p>His greater purpose was to be a toy. He read some tablet, blabbered about new plans and got angry that no one took him seriously. And despite all the shit he did, we're supposed to think he was some tragic anti-hero because his dumbass brother died in battle. The narrative is so blatantly oblivious to his characterization and hypocrisy. The bastard even gets to die peacefully with Hashirama the Naive near to him.
</p><p>I suppose it's too much to expect Kishimoto to not glorify the stupid Uchiha and focus on other characters. Wife of the first Hokage and grandmother of Tsunade, the first Jinchūruki of Kurama.

<p>I also didn't like that for similiar reasons, I would've preferred if Naruto and Sasuke didn't have to be the chosen one and become some kind of mystical entity, it feels like all the other characters became useless cause if you're a reincarnate then you'll eventually get so much chakra and so much power that you alone can dominate the whole world just with that, I like it when it's just man vs man, not god vs god, so I would've preferred if there wasn't a shift towards "big things", so no reincarnates who have a power on a totally different plane (like just look at part 1 edo Hashirama and then at war arc edo Madara), and no megazords like the susanoo and the bijuu
</p><p>I still like a lot the series, it's just that pains me out when Sasuke can just swing his susanoo blade and kill countless jonin (who should be elite ninja), when Madara gets his susanoo deleted then flexes a bigger one and the guy who deleted it is like:"Oh well, guess it's bigger so now jinton doesn't work" then even detroyes the 5 kage without it, when Naruto/Bee can charge up a bijuudama and clear a village, when Hashirama can summon a wood construct big like a juubidama; I guess I made enough exemples, a lot of people like this power inflation and it's cool, personally I'd prefer otherwise, that's all

<p>Frwt:The only reincarnates to be stupid powerful were Hashirama & Madara, and Naruto & Sasuke. No other ones were notanle in Shinobi history, so the power they gained was not predetermined. Naruto's power pre-6 Paths was because Minato sealed Kurama in him and because he busted his ass. Sasuke's pre-6 Paths power came from his intellect and he lucked out for some upgrades.
