An interesting character with a good backstory, not some annoying spoiled child.

not some annoying spoiled child.
That's part of his development though??
Character development isn't something the Naruto creators are exactly good at and the Naruto fanbase doesn't really like character development, and we haven't really seen Boruto "develop"
@Kyubitai Also can you show me the hardships btw

A lot of characters have gotten at least a bit of character development.
we haven't really seen Boruto "develop"
He went from hating the Hokage to understanding what it is his father has to do, and from not caring about his teammates + being cocky most of the time to being ready to take his own life for the sake of stopping Isshiki's plan.
How is that not at least lowballed development?
@MomisOmams True, Boruto maybe isn't that bad I take back what I said before but Kawaki did the same things, can do the same things and as well as having a good backstory. That's why he's a better protagonist.
Kawaki is Boruto's foil. He would not be as complex a character without Boruto, and Boruto likely would not be a major character if not for the protagonist. So for the sake of Kawaki's character, Boruto should be the protagonist. It would be as if one preferred Sasuke over Naruto without realizing the two of them together bring out more development in the other.
Most Likely Boruto Can Be A False Protagonist, The Whole Story Can Actually Be About Kawaki As The Good Guy And Boruto As The Bad Guy
That is no different than Sasuke being a fellow protagonist alongside Naruto. Albeit, the exact dynamics may swap, depending on the nature of Kawaki's fall (that leads up to the flash-forward in the first chapter). Regardless, the notion Kawaki should have been the protagonist "instead" of Boruto is faulty.
I don't think Boruto is even the protagonist, just think about it with this momoshiki stuff in his head and the borushiki forms. Maybe he'll become the villain in the story.
Most of the people that say Boruto is a yellow haired spoiled kid that isn't grateful for his father hasn't even caught up with the Anime and the Manga. He's matured and he realized how great his father was over time... you've gotta be behind the Chunin Exams arc to not know that. You're all forgetting there's something called "Character Development".
What do you think?
