Tanking means taking an attack with little or no damage. And we know that Nagato didn't get damaged. He was just pushed backwards.

AND YOU’RE STILL FORGETTING IT LITERALLY EXPLAINS THE REASON HE DIDN’T TAKE DAMAGE WAS BECAUSE HE WAS ABSORBING CHAKRA

He got hit AFTER that he started absorbing it lmao

He got hit but absorbed the chakra.

It’s really not hard to understand this.

He absorbed the damage that was already dealt that doesn't make any sense

He already looked pretty fucked up before that his face doesn't change that he took no damage

I'd say Nagato did take the full force of the hit and then started absorbing the chakra but it's almost irrelevant because that means Nagato can do that to practically every attack acting as a pseudo-durability enhancement.
