Sakura wouldn't have had a chance against him if it wasn't for Chiyo. First, Chiyo knew his weaknesses. And secondly, he got himself killed by them.

I feel like it wouldn't really be a fight, since Deidara would probably just fly high enough to evade Sasori since there's no way he's getting past Iron Sand. Then again, if Sasori decides to take out all of his puppets, given Deidara's speed when it comes to molding clay and how even his smallest bombs can cause a powerful explosion, Deidara could take this.

Sasori is stronger, but Deidara could win with a good strategy.
