@Rikka2010 I think it's quite obvious that the name comes from his summoning animal, at least partially. Kinda like Kakashi had the suffix "of the Sharingan" because that's what made him famous

Update on Hanzo's name, here's quote from his wiki page:

At some point during Hanzō's childhood, he found a black salamander with deadly venom residing in his village. When it died, its venom sac was embedded into his body in the hopes of creating a venomous ninja who himself was immune to toxins. This required him to wear a mask constantly, in order to protect others from his venom-laced breath

So yeah not exactly what I originally thought

The thing that throws me off is that he had a wife which is normal but how did he have children cause IIRC, it was mentioned that Hanzo had two kids. Was his wife immune to his poison or smt or were they adopted.

The poison was in his breath and he wore mask to control it. It's not exactly clear if the poison is in his blood or other fluids
