Quest for Identity: Sarada, yearning to know more about her estranged father, Sasuke, finds an old photo of him with his former teammates, including Karin. Noticing that Karin wears similar glasses to her own, Sarada starts to question if Sakura is her real mother.
Following Naruto: She decides to follow the Seventh Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki, who is setting out to meet Sasuke, hoping to finally get answers from her father. Her friend Chocho Akimichi, who is also questioning her own parentage, tags along.
Awakening the Sharingan: Upon seeing Sasuke for the first time in many years, Sarada's emotions cause her to awaken her Sharingan. However, their meeting is tense, as Sasuke initially doesn't recognize her.

When Sakura, who had been injured, returns and defeats Shin, she clarifies that she is Sarada's biological mother. It is later revealed that Karin was the midwife when Sarada was born, which explains why the umbilical cord Suigetsu tested belonged to Karin and Sarada—it was the cord connecting mother (Sakura) and baby (Sarada), and Karin had simply kept it.
Family Bond and Resolution: The arc concludes with Sarada's doubts resolved and her bond with both parents strengthened. Sasuke acknowledges her existence and the connection she represents to his family, famously poking her on the forehead before departing again on his mission.
