The Itachi Shinden novels gave us new info about the byakugan. Itachi and Shisui fought a byagukan user named mukai and 3 things occurred that made me think back to this potential fight. #1 A Hyuga can read the flow of chakra and use gentle fist to easily split a giant fireball jutsu in half. Mukai described this as something “easy” to do for a gentle fist user. Neji has a better feat of using razor sharp precision to cut kidomaru’s webs, neji can split chakra based substances in half .#2 Sharingan genjutsu doesn’t work on the byagukan. The byagukan eye perception is so fast the sharingan cannot lock them in a genjutsu. Shisui needed the mangekyo sharingan because it can trap the under a genjutsu in less than a thousand of a second #3 The Byakugan kekkei genkai is stated to be a visual jutsu on par with the Uchiha sharingan. There’s another statement like this in part 1 where kakashi says in perceptive ability it’s above the sharingan. Neji can potentially cut fireball jutsu in half given his level of gentle fist on top of him being the biggest genius of the hyuga. He can use rotation as defense, neji can’t be put in genjutsu (not that Sasuke could use genjutsu at that point anyway) and once neji cuts sasuke’s chakra points it’s over. neji would’ve won this fight

I’ve always thought it would’ve been cool to see neji use twin lion fists tbh. It wouldn’t be hard to believe at all, considering how much of a genius he is
If I remember correctly, he was the one who apparently helped hinata to train in order to learn and use this jutsu right? So I’ve always wondered why he didn’t choose to learn it himself. It would’ve been a great technique to have in his arsenal, no doubt💯
But I understand that it is sorta like hinata’s signature jutsu now, so I guess it is better that it remained just hers.
Seeing him use a slightly greener version of this jutsu would definitely be dope tho🔥🔥🔥
Is it possible for a Sharingan user to copy the Gentle Fist? And if so, is it possible for someone to learn where every chakra node is located in the human body and block it without the need of the Byakugan to see them?
This is something a friend of mine brought up. It's an interesting theory not gonna lie. So I wanna get your guys opinions on it.

Yk I’ve been thinking about this ever since I heard the rumours of him possibly possessing the byakugan
as well as when I watched his fight against inojin
It would be really cool if he actually did have the byakugan, but there’s also another way that he could use the hyuga’s gentle fist to close off chakra points
So yk how he has photographic memory? Shouldn’t he be more than capable of memorising the chakra network and points, and using that memory to pinpoint and block an enemy’s chakra points just like the gentle fist?
I think it seems pretty plausible tbh🤔

• Day 21 - Underrated Character •
Tbh I think neji and tenten are underrated
But then again I also think the whole of the hyuga clan are actually really underrated🤍
When it was stated that the hyuga are the mightiest clan in the leaf, they were kinda telling the truth ngl💯. The average hyuga could definitely defeat the average uchiha in battle. Their byakugan and gentle fist is actually a pretty good counter to their sharingan. The byakugan would be able to penetrate thru the sharingan’s genjutsu
And their eye of insight’s copy ability should be basically useless in a fight against a hyuga since they mainly rely on taijutsu instead of ninjutsu
Btw I’m talking without the mangekyo sharingan yk, I already know an uchiha with ms is on a different league okay💀. Although theoretically the hyuga’s gentle fist should be capable of destroying the susano’o. I know that sounds crazy😂but it’s been confirmed that the gentle fist is capable of destroying any chakra based substances such as kidomaru’s chakra based threads
The susano’o is made purely out of chakra, so it’s not too much of a stretch yk. It honestly sucks how kishimoto didn't explore the hyuga clan more, as well a lot of other clan’s and characters like neji that didn’t get the development and spotlight they deserved😩. Such a waste💯

Despite all of the slander she constantly gets for not getting enough screen time and getting absolutely destroyed by temari in the chunin exams😂, u gotta admit that she only lost cos temari is basically the ultimate counter to many jutsu and fighting styles such as tenten’s. But if tenten were to face any of the other kunoichi in that first chunin exams, she would’ve likely defeated them💯. Although her forté is long range fighting, she’s capable of fighting efficiently in close combat as well due to her mastery over a plethora of weaponry
Her fighting is actually really versatile. Her destructive capabilities are no joke too ngl. If u have seen her fight in the “Will of Fire” shippuden movie, yk how impressive her jutsu are, and could be if she was given more spotlight in the show🔥🔥🔥
This is just my opinion, so pls feel free to share some characters that u think are underrated and would’ve loved to see more of in the show🤍
Day 9 - Favourite Ninja Technique:
I love a lot of ninja techniques/jutsu that’s been shown throughout the whole series, but I’ll try to choose one or two from each category(ninjutsu, taijutsu, genjutsu)
Ninjutsu: My favourite chakra nature is water style🌊so I’d probably say any water style jutsu tbh.
But I’d say water dragon might be favourite of all🐉. It’s a dragon made of water, it’s bound to be cool yk💯
But if I was to exclude chakra natures, it would definitely be sai’s super beast scroll🎨. I was instantly intrigued when I first saw the super beast scroll being used! So as an artist, I found it really cool that he could bring his drawings to life and use them in battle🔥🔥🔥
Taijutsu: As a huge fan of the hyuga clan and their famous byakugan, ofc I love their fighting style the gentle fist, and the jutsu they’ve developed with it🤍
My favourites from the gentle fist is the🦁Gentle Step: Twin Lion Fists🔥 and the ☯️Eight Trigrams: Air Palm🤚. U gotta admit that the twin lion fists look amazing man fr😍definitely one of the coolest looking techniques in the series💯
As for the air palm, I really liked that they added this jutsu to neji and hinata’s arsenal cos before this they didn’t have any long range jutsu. So with the addition of this new jutsu, it made their arsenal a little more balanced
Genjutsu: Definitely Itachi’s Tsukuyomi❤️. It’s just so op and the fact that the victim of this jutsu is able to experience just a few hours, or even a whole fucking lifetime in izumi’s case, is just mind blowing honestly🤯🤯🤯. One of the best and most coolest genjutsu in the entire franchise💯

Since the last two posts were about kekkei genkai that we think is underrated, I decided to do one for hiden techniques as well! (e.g: shadow possession, etc)
Mine would definitely be the hyuga clan’s gentle fist fighting style🤍
Although their byakugan is considered a doujutsu and kekkei genkai, their gentle fist is considered a hiden technique. Cos anyone is capable of using the gentle fist fighting style, they just wouldn’t be able to accurately pinpoint the chakra points due to their lack of the byakugan’s penetrative vision. Boruto is a good example of this💯
