The Fourth Shinobi World War: Confrontation Arc, a major arc in the anime series Naruto: Shippuden, covers the initial stages of the war between the Allied Shinobi Forces and Tobi's forces. It sets the stage for the climactic battles to come, focusing on the immediate battles, strategic movements, and the reintroduction of powerful, resurrected characters.
Start of the War
The arc begins with the Allied Shinobi Forces, led by the Fourth Raikage and with Gaara as their commander, mobilizing against Tobi's army. Tobi, now a central antagonist, reveals his plan to cast an "Infinite Tsukuyomi" on the world using the Ten-Tails and the Eight and Nine-Tailed Beasts. He deploys his army, which includes an army of White Zetsu clones and resurrected shinobi brought back by Kabuto Yakushi's Impure World Reincarnation (Edo Tensei) jutsu. Kabuto's role is critical here; he provides Tobi with a powerful lineup of revived shinobi, including former Kage, Akatsuki members, and other legendary ninja.
Early Battles
The initial phase of the war is marked by the Allied Shinobi Forces encountering the Edo Tensei army. The Allied Shinobi Forces are divided into different divisions, each with a specific role:
First Division: Led by Darui, this division faces a group of resurrected ninja, including the Kinkaku and Ginkaku brothers, who possess the Nine-Tails' chakra. The brothers' immense power and the Five Great Treasures force the division into a difficult battle.
Second Division: Led by Kitsuchi, this division primarily combats the White Zetsu army.
Third Division: Led by Kakashi Hatake, this division confronts the reincarnated Seven Ninja Swordsmen of the Mist.
Fourth Division: Led by Gaara, this is the main combat division that faces the resurrected Kage, including the Third Raikage, the Second Mizukage, and the Fourth Kazekage (Gaara's father). This division also confronts the resurrected Itachi Uchiha and Nagato.
Key Fights and Developments
The arc highlights several pivotal battles that reveal new abilities and advance the plot:
Gaara vs. Fourth Kazekage: Gaara confronts his resurrected father, learning the truth about his mother's love and sealing away his father's soul after a touching reconciliation. This fight demonstrates Gaara's growth and mastery over his sand.
Kakashi vs. Seven Ninja Swordsmen: Kakashi and his division engage in a brutal fight against the resurrected swordsmen. Kakashi and Might Guy are forced to work together, eventually defeating most of the swordsmen, but not without revealing the immense threat they pose.
Itachi and Nagato: Naruto Uzumaki and Killer B arrive at the battlefield and encounter the reanimated Itachi and Nagato. Itachi, under Kabuto's control, uses his Sharingan and genjutsu to test Naruto. He then breaks free from Kabuto's control with a crow containing a secret jutsu he had prepared years ago, allowing him to help Naruto and Killer B in the fight. The fight culminates with Itachi sealing Nagato away, who had been weakened due to his past battles. Itachi then leaves to confront Kabuto directly and stop the Impure World Reincarnation.
Tobi's Plan Revealed: Tobi reveals his true goal to both Naruto and Killer B—to capture them to extract their chakra and bring the Ten-Tails to its full form. Naruto and Killer B, now a formidable duo, fight Tobi and the Six Paths of Pain he resurrected.
The arc concludes with the Allied Shinobi Forces holding their ground against Tobi's initial assault. The stage is set for the final phase of the war, with Tobi now in direct conflict with Naruto and Killer B, and Itachi and Sasuke Uchiha on their own path to find the truth behind the war.

Kurama/ or the kyubi's forms were red because duh the bjuu itself was red like color
Naruto had red/orange ish aura cause that's how kurama looked
And even gaara had bjuu forms that look more akin to his bjuu
The rest of the bjuu just got the red aura for no reason, it dont even match their respective tailed beast, in what world does this form ever look anything like gyuki?
Why does the jinchuriki form look nothing like the actual bjuu
They should of just had the partial transformation, be the bjuu form
Considering it actually looks like gyuki
The bjuu forms look all the same, to the point
That it's hard to tell each apart
You know they could of made each, a humanoid ish version of the bjuu itself
Imagine fu turning into a humanoid buu creature
Or yagura turning into a humanoid turtle
Would of been way cooler then copy and paste, red blobs
--
Off topic but why does kurama suddenly look humanoid in shippuden
He was a a four legged quadruped
