Kushina Uzumaki

When Obito summoned Kurama to destroy Konoha, Minato sacrificed both Kushina and himself to save the village and seal Kurama in Naruto. Why didn't he use Kushina's soul to seal Kurama and stay alive to raise Naruto?

Is it related to Kushina's bad health or is it just a plot hole? I didn't find anything on the Shinigami's page 'bout it requiring great chakra to seal its target.

What if Kushina used the Dead Demon Consuming Seal herself to seal Kurama's Yin and Yang halfs in Minato and Naruto, respectively? I'll talk a little about what would change in my opinion.

In this case, Minato would survive and continue his administration as Fourth Hokage. I think he'd likely veto the Uchiha Clan isolation, controlling its revolt and consequently avoiding the Uchiha Clan Downfall.

With Itachi still in Konoha and both Itachi and Shisui still alive, Sasuke wouldn't awaken his Sharingan so early. Instead, he'd likely train with Itachi himself at somepoint of the story.

Also, Naruto would be named Naruto Namikaze as Minato would be alive to protect him from his enemies. Naruto wouldn't be hated by the villagers for carrying the Nine-Tails, as Minato would've claim to be the Jinchuuriki of Kurama in order to protect his son. Not being rejected by the village, Naruto would grow as a normal kid, not pranking the Hokage Monument, for example.

Edit: It's likely impossible to seal something in someone else with the RDS, but Kushina could still use the Eight Trigrams Sealing Style to seal it in Minato, who could later use another seal to give part of this chakra to Naruto.

Minato is the biggest prodigy in the series. From the time he was in the academy Minato was known as a genius. He also held the highest chunin exam test score ever in konoha history. After graduating the academy his sensei was Jiriaya and he became the world's youngest Kage (now gaara is the youngest Kage at 16) He invented the rasengan, perfected and improved upon tobirama’s flying raijin and he mastered and perfected Sage mode. Everyone who spoke about Minato regarded him as a genius. He was believed to have been the child of prophecy and a natural prodigy that appears only once in a generation. He saved kushina from hidden cloud jonin, while he was a Genin. The 9 tail fox himself who had fought hashirama many times regarded Minato as a Shinobi on the same caliber as Hashirama! Minato also learned sealing jutsu of the legendary Uzumaki clan. The raikage said Minato was so talented he didn't believe anyone would ever surpass him. He was literally a one man army and defeated battalions of Shinobi in the third great shinobi war by himself. Opposing nations were ordered not to engage, and had flee-on-sight orders if they seen him. Minato also said he wasn’t good at Sage mode however…Minato was being humble. He has the markings of a PERFECT SAGE!!! and used the mode without summoning ma and pa like Jiraiya! He was also able to instantly enter Sage mode without sitting down to gather energy like Naruto! Remember Minato is a prodigy, so his definition of good is different than ours. Minato is not from any special clan or bloodline and was still was able to become strong enough to overwhelm tailed beast and become one of the strongest Kages ever. Not only can he deduce an opponents abilities in mere seconds but he can also come up with the best strategies. That’s why he’s so great

Kurama is unfortunately gone.

Long story short. All the traces of his chakra are gone and after the war Naruto got 100% of all his chakra. There is no chakra for Kurama to regenerate from. Now usually tailed beast can technically “die” (temporarily) but their chakra does return after a time period (though the time is not specified) Kushina stated that it can be delayed if the jinchuriki dies with them. But with baryon mode the chakra vanishes completely because it’s completely consumed to create a new energy (nuclear fusion) and Naruto does not die because the chakra wasn’t extracted…it vanished after being used as fuel. Naruto’s body just goes into shock from losing kurama when the chakra vanishes. In short, Kurama burned all his chakra through nuclear fusion to create Baryon Mode as his last resort.
