He not's evil, because he didn't feel anger at Obito's death, he instead felt a lot of guilt. He admired Obito who sacrificed his life for his actions and ideals, that shaped the man he is today. He wanted to honor Obito.
@BloodOfTheArchon I'm saying that since he already used the chakra needed for Ephemeral, before he said he can't use MS, that he not's saying that he can't use he can't use MS with just 30% chakra. He already had less than 30% chakra when he made that comment about not being able to use MS.
Itachi wasn't saying that MS is 30% of his chakra, because he used Ephemeral before, he said that he can't use MS. That means MS is = 30% chakra - Ephemeral's chakra
I think it ran out of chakra.
@BloodOfTheArchon I think Itachi was telling the truth.
He said it after the fight in chp 260
Remember when Itachi fought kakashi and Naruto in chapter 257 -260 using Pein's shoten clone jutsu? Itachi said something like "I ran out of chakra" to kisame after his clone was defeated. Do you believe he was lying when he said that?
How do you know how much time Sasuke took to break it in the manga? Regardless a microsecond in Tsukuyomi time, is probably not enough time to break it.
It takes time to break genjutsu, time which they wouldn't have if Tsukuyomi is used in the way I suggested.
@Ninja Of War Believe what you want, I don't believe either of us are going to change our mind at this point.
@Sy6up What about you? Do you believe Itachi was lying about using up 30% chakra?
"It is FACT that 30% was no longer the case after that battle."
What do you mean?
It's surprising you believe that he could have lied about the 30% chakra thing.
Weren't you saying it's valid that Itachi lied, because it's unlikely he would use up 30% of his chakra with 3 those jutsus? I'm not assuming that he used jutsu off-panel I'm only stating a possibility. As for ephemeral and the unnamed sharingan genjutsu chakra cost, I'm stating a fact, nobody knows how much they cost. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this is your logic:
Itachi likely lied about using up all of the 30% of chakra to Kisame, because you conclude he only used 2 genjutsus and Gokakyuu.
This logic is flawed, in no way does him using 3 jutsus mean they couldn't cost more than you think. Your ignore the possibilities that they could cost more and that he could used jutsu off panel, in favor of your logic. Ephemeral literally had both Sakura and Chiyo break it. @BloodOfTheArchon can you weigh in on Ninja's argument that Itachi was likely lying about using up all his chakra with the Shoten Clone?
In what way is using shunshin or Substitution off panel unlikely?
Kakashi seeing past one feint one time, doesn't mean he can see past them all the time, substitution feints vary in how there used depending on the situation. Some are used to counterattack and some are just used to get out of sticky situations. Did Hebi Sasuke or Kabuto see past Itachi's clone feints? Obito might able to deal with IMO on the matter. Not be able to handle clones and feints?
If you rather leave the point there it's your decision.
Obito hasn't trained to fight while avoiding eye contact. Sakura had to squint her eyes to barely avoid eye contact.
Fuu didn't show mind-transfer that was that fast.
It's not valid. Saying that Itachi's lying, simply due to you believing it's unlikely 3 jutsus can cost 30% of chakra is not taking into account that we have no idea how much any of those jutsus cost. Ephemeral and the unnamed sharingan genjutsu can cost more than you think. Can't say it's unlikely if we don't know how much those 3 jutsu costs. Not to mention, he could have used shunshin and substitution off panel, that would bring it up to 5 jutsus.
There's the methods he used in the 2nd Kakashi fight and the killer Bee fight. He can also elicit eye contact by causing distraction or surprising Obito, like he did in the Sasuke fight.
Sakura said the Mind-transfer jutsu was slow in her fight with Ino. While Sharingan genjutsu works the moment you look into Itachi's eyes.
It's more unlikely that Itachi used shunshin and substitution jutsu off panel? Regardless your scenario of Itachi lying, doesn't work.
Did Obito or the others try to make eye contact? Don't have to prove that Itachi will make eye contact, it's not even likely that Obito will try to avoid eye contact, due to the fact that he has a sharingan which is common knowledge that counters genjutsu. Secondly Itachi has plethora of methods to make eye contact. Look at the Deidara vs Itachi fight to see how fast sharingan genjutsu is.
That's highly unlikely, because it's unnecessary to lie, regardless of whether or not he wants to help Konoha. Also your scenario that Itachi was lying, because of it's unreasonable for Itachi to run out chakra with just 3 jutsus, doesn't work. We don't know how much chakra Ephermeral or the sharingan genjutsu he used cost, one of them or both them may cost more chakra than your giving them credit for.
I'm going to chalk it up to plot that Hinata didn't see through Tobi's mask. She had the Byakugan, there's no logical reason she can't see through a mask. Itachi made eye contact in every one of his battles except one, so it definitely not that hard for Itachi. Can you prove that Fuu's mind-body transfer is of comparable speed to sharingan genjutsu? Also even if you can prove Fuu's jutsu is at least the same speed as sharingan genjutsu, since sharingan genjutsu unlike Fuu's jutsu has no signs of when it's about to be used.
Wood style jutsu isn't a jutsu you sustain, it's either growing or grown.
If that's the case any time Uchiha fights an Uchiha, they should know when they're in a genjutsu as soon as it starts, but Sasuke apparently didn't know he was under Tsukuyomi until later on in the illusion, as he didn't try to break it until after Itachi tried to take out his other eye.
I don't think he would. As far as I remember Obito didn't have it prepared for either Sasuke or Konan. Obito activated Izanagi against Konan, mid battle, IIRC. Itachi stacked a genjutsu on top of another genjutsu when he used sharingan genjutsu on top of Izanami. How would he see the genjutsu coming when there's no signs?
Here's the post:
Itachi should win if he adopts this strategy:
Create Kage Bunshin
The real Itachi constantly puts Obito under consecutive sharingan genjutsus.
Have his Kage Bunshin cut off Obito's head, while he's incapacitated from genjutsu
That's the end of Obito. It takes time to break out of genjutsu, by the time Obito breaks through the first genjutsu, he'll already be in another one. Repeat that strategy as much necessary, giving the clone time to cut his head while Obito's incapacitated by genjutsu.
