I'm pretty sure it was before 1900's because they often reffer to ryo currency which in japan was discarded in 1871 but you can tell that boruto looks very modern looking things surly they could not have jumped that far from late 1800;s to early 2000s/late 1900's What are your thoughts and if it was confirmed or u have a headcannon do let me know.

But i gave an explanation giving why Naruto could'nt have taken place after 1858 although sasuke having a philo farnsworth tv makes no sense as to that being invented in 1972, although adding a constant sign of a currency that was discarded would seem more important than a tv found which could be a mistake but geez nice theory
