One of the Naruto OVAs had a substance called
Hero Water which caused consumers to have increased chakra levels while shortening their lives. I learned that One Piece also has a substance called Hero Water with similar effects-
https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Hero_Water. Note that the two versions of Hero Water have different Japanese names and that the One Piece version has more extreme effects (with the consumers dying in five minutes as opposed to having their lifespans shortened). It could be an example of one source borrowing from another, but I also wonder of there's an earlier source which inspired both (like a traditional legend, a previous manga, or even a real world drug like anabolic steroids). It could also be something like how Son Goku from Naruto was inspired by both the Monkey King from Journey to the West and Goku from Dragon Ball. Any thoughts?
