Animation: Invasion of Pain's was rather good - except for 166 and 167, though that's mainly because of how eye-gaugingly different it was from the rest. Ten-Tails Revival was where it was really lackluster. I hope for this one they give it their best, preferably like RTN.
Length: Just one episode for 695-697. Leave us hanging for another episode on 698 and 699, which wraps everything up. It's short but sweet, and thus memorable.
Filler: Oh this thing's going to be chock-loaded with filler material. It's Naruto and Sasuke, for crying out loud!
@Itachi Okay, that makes sense.
@Itachi Huh. That IS strange. Do you think it's because they were all 13 by then? (that might be a misunderstanding on my part; I'm always confused with their ages at the end of Part I and beginning of Part II).
@Otaku Okay, I'm confused. When this started, you were questioning NH. Now you're questioning NS. Either way, about Sakura's punches - take a joke, people! It's only exaggerated in the anime, and it's not at all uncommon from other shonen (though those usually end with them a happy couple...), examples being Ed and Winry, and Goku and Chi-Chi. HOW come I am the ONLY person on THIS WHOLE WIKI with ANY - SENSE- OF HUMOR!?!
@Hisana Yep. The confusion of typos...
@Bambusek Based on the rest of the movie? I'd say one day.
@Rage I was just referencing how SJ and SP simply LOVE promoting Hinata in almost every Naruto thing outside of Naruto and/or Sasuke-centric things. And I don't like post-699 since it ignored practically all character development, just like "Last Forever"; can't I give an opinion? But yeah; this is really a troll thread. Didn't see a point in it at first, and I still don't. So why?
Hey, he started it. XD But at least the canon thing got resolved (I still don't know what we were talking about then...)
Also, about Hinata getting less time than Sakura - true for what Kishi wanted, not true for what every other idiot in SJ and SP wanted. Sad, so sad. (hell, they've even poked fun of it themselves)
Kishi killing off Sasuke... indeed XD. Although it could've happened if Sasuke lived... just saying I see it possible (why else did I do it in the novels I'm writing?).
It was made very clear throughout the series, including the war, that Naruto still liked Sakura up until he was 19. Everything else you said is correct. And the only reason he HAD to like someone is because he's the main character (*sigh* characters...)
And for the record, I'm NOT defending NS. I'm only clarifying a couple of things.
@Yetti Sakura was mean towards the beginning, but proved to be nice (albeit occasionally irritated) from the Chunin Exams onward. I also think it was more them spending time with each other that made Naruto want Sakura more, though that's just me.
@Bambusek Hinata was all over Naruto back when they were seven or eight, after he "saved" her from those bullies in The Last's scarf flashback (which, ironically enough, retconned the flashback in Shippuden 166).
@Hisana Regarding Sakura's role, I'm actually rather dumbfounded by it. They literally based her whole pro-NH thing in the movie on a single manga panel in Ch. 442. And this is because Sai is pro-NS while Shikamaru couldn't care less. It would have been better had people who had more influence on NH have a bigger role in the film, such as Kurenai, Kiba, or even Neji's ghost (okay maybe not). But the sad thing is, none of those people had any major influence on Naruto's life - like, changing his whole perspective on life and what not (though Neji comes close). That's another sad thing about The Last: it mostly went off its own content and barely recognized NH hints FROM the manga outside of Naruto's creepy scarf genjutsu.
Sasuke doesn't have an arm, so he can't even do 80% of his techniques. Naruto would win hands down.
By the way, is there any reason for this thread to exist? We already saw the outcome of their final battle, so...
Ah brother. I was wanting to stay out of this but...
@Otaku Basically Hikari explained everything as to why Hinata "rejected" Naruto. To answer your question about Sakura - yep, Kishi was trolling with us. Full story. Naruto was always going to be with Hinata. But SJ decided to pull our legs, so they added tons and tons of NS hints while keeping NH far more subtle. So in the end, Naruto's feelings for Sakura, Sakura being the female lead, and anything Sakura-like about Tsunade, Kushina, or even Rin, was just one, big, fat red herring. I find that idiotic, because unlike the jerkmove made by HIMYM, which was good-intentioned, here the writers were deliberately trying to harm us. That's going to cost them in the novels I'm writing.
@Itachi Actually, you contradicted yourself. If you go off of what Naruto said to Sakura at the hotel, that would mean that Naruto HATES Sakura. But you also said that Sakura is his best friend/surrogate brother. I'd also want to point out another thing. Do you really think that Naruto ditched Sakura and went for Hinata during the Invasion of Pain? If so, then prove it. Spoiler: you can't. Naruto only did as such in The Last. That's why it's stupid: because even though it's canon, it's far too late in the game to look reasonable.
@Jnew That scarf was from Kushina? Wow. That makes Sakura and Hinata look like total bitches. Think about it: they're practically saying, "Why on Earth are you wearing the very last gift your mother gave you when you can wear this other scarf that's going to be torn to bits anyways?"...
@Notother Technically, Sakura fans can be divided on this. Some might be happy she got her rock star (who is the dark(er) shonen equivalent of Justin Bieber), while others may be disappointed she didn't grow up out of that. And there are several people bashing the ending, not just NSers (no need to be stereotypical and/or prejudicial).
Yeah, Lord 7th's right. You don't need to stress and apologize just because you don't post every day. We're patient. Just a protip
@Jiton Completely agree!
@Kirin Yeah, the thing about Naruto's hypocrisy was starting to create problems. So I decided to drop it after Rachin pointed that out.
The Tailed Beast thing was going to come in sooner or later. The moment I saw "Nine" in the name, I knew there was more. I even predicted the Ten-Tails that way. But they were always a big deal; the very fact a Tailed Beast is in the protagonist MADE the series, literally made it.
Gotta agree with the plot's intended realism. And the Uchiha rant (stupid Sharingan spammers).
There's a lot I gotta say about Sakura's Part II development. For one, though, her development didn't go spiraling downwards after Kazekage Rescue. Or Sai and Sasuke. Or Hidan and Kakuzu. Or Itachi Pursuit. Or Invasion of Pain. In fact, in all those arcs, her bond with Naruto was getting stronger, whereas there was practically nothing going on on either side for her relationship with Sasuke (in the former statement, the same can be easily said for Part I). In Five Kage Summit, everything really went, for lack of a better word, rocky. Sakura now knows Naruto's feelings and is willing to be his girlfriend in order to ease his "suffering", but she's also trying to give Sasuke euthanasia in order to ease HIS "suffering". It was complex, but I decided to focus on Sakura's last two quotes from the arc: "All I can do now - is believe in them", and "Thank you Naruto. Because of you, I know we'll be Team 7 again". For me, I thought this would result in some sort of love triangle that would shape Sakura's character over the course of the rest of the series. You see, I see Team 7 as the three main aspects of love, and though they don't get it at first, them becoming the pinnacles of that is beautiful. For Naruto, it is camaraderie love, which was played out brilliantly. For Sasuke, it is familial love, which was rather rocky but ultimately played out well. And for Sakura, it is romantic love - all I can say to that is that Kishi probably hasn't read/seen The Hunger Games (of course, all the Japanese are going "THIS IS TEEN-FRIENDLY BATTLE ROYALE, DAMMIT!"). Problem was, the thing actually seemed to be in Naruto's favor. After all, throughout the war, there were many moments where it looked like Sakura would go for Sasuke and many moments where it looked like she wouldn't. Conversely, there was not a single moment of animosity between Naruto and Sakura. Hell, when I put it that way 693 is perfectly fine. But the outcome in 699? Okay, just no. For Hinata, the reason you gave for her is the very reason I've heard from every single NHer (except the only NHer I know personally, who literally has a crush on her). Problem is, that goes straight back into the thing about backgrounds predetermining endings. And it's a flaw that's existed throughout Naruto. Development is what is important and that's why NS, again, is far more capable than literally every other pairing even in "death". So in my opinion, had Part I never existed and Naruto beat Sasuke in their first battle, then it would all work, mainly because for the most part everyone's legit development stopped at various points of the Chunin Exams. But because of Naruto's popularity, Part II came around. And then everything shifted into a different direction. Anyway, if you're fed up with the romance, this is going to be my last thing on it.
I'll get into Sasuke later when you make that thread, although I would say that it should have just been Naruto, unless Kishi were to develop Sasuke, Sakura, and Kakashi further, at which point I'd easily call it Team 7. And that thing about fates makes a lot more sense when you put it that way.
@Jiton I gotta disagree with Naruto being a story about war. From Ch. 451 onwards, sure. But before that, not really. Across all 700 chapters, Naruto, as you mentioned, is a story about love - not just romantically (which it sucked at), but in all of its forms (which it rocked at). Everything else was pretty good. If it were me, I would have done Obito or Madara being behind everything.
I already told Iar Sensei AND you. I'm retconning details on Toneri for the Otsutsuki history in MY WORKS. I have a script for when Naruto meets Hagoromo coming out in a few days, so you'll see what Toneri does then.
Yeah, pretty much. I just don't want us carrying on any further because you said my tone was a bit hostile.
All right, we all know you hate Part II Naruto, Rachin. Honestly, I'm just going to drop it because I think most of the other users can agree you're just wrong.
Actually, he didn't kill Kakuzu. He only destroyed the third and fourth of Kakuzu's five hearts. Kakashi destroyed the fifth.
1. That's actually the only decent one out of all of these, though it was hard for him to take in the loss of the single closest person to him, and in the end he didn't choose to annihilate Nagato unlike Sasuke. Not only that, but Naruto never abandoned his friends while he tried to stop Nagato.
2. I don't watch anime fillers.
3. Naruto didn't kill a single soul. I don't know what you're talking about him killing the loved ones of his enemies.
4. Everyone in peaceful dreams - UNTIL THEY ARE TURNED INTO ARTIFICIAL JOKERS. Seriously, the goal is for HUMANITY to achieve peace by NOT wiping it out. I can't believe you just said this one.
5. Naruto doesn't really hate anybody, but regardless that was BEFORE he saw all the suffering Obito went through. And he related to it just like with Gaara.
Dude, I meant it's non-canon to that film/novel series I'm planning. WHY THE FU*K DOES EVERYONE MISUNDERSTAND THAT???
