Bansai (板斎) is an elder ninja monk in the Fire Temple as well as the Head Monk of the temple.

At some point, Bansai became a ninja monk and later retired.
Personality[]
Bansai is a very kind person who cares about his comrades deeply as seen when he said a prayer for Asuma Sarutobi before he set out for battle.
Appearance[]
Bansai is an elderly man with a long light grey beard. He also wears the typical ninja monk uniform.

Akatsuki Suppression Mission[]

During the attack on the Fire Temple, Bansai had been away from the temple for some time. When Asuma Sarutobi and his team went to the temple to gather information on the Akatsuki attack, Bansai had returned after hearing of the incident. As the team was about to leave, Bansai asked to say a prayer for Asuma and his team's well-being.
