The Black Salamander (黒山椒魚, Kuroi Sanshōuo) was a large poisonous creature that died in Amegakure. Hanzō, as a child, took its venom sac and implanted it into his body, thus allowing him to create the same poison simply by breathing, as well as allowing him to develop a resistance to it. Due to this, Hanzō was feared as "Hanzō of the Salamander".[1]
