strategizing: good, shows that they can actually think things through
Jutsu: good, nice to see a new fire release technique (and from Konohamaru no less), Nice to see Sarada's skill in the field as well. Not so happy about Mitsuki using Kakashi's technique though.
Ninjatech: bad, they could've come up with that weakness when Boruto was handling the contraption in a previous chapter.
Ao's skills: kinda downgraded since Koji found it necesary to warn him about their plans, a former ANBU and Hunternin should be able to figure that out easily.
I agree with Sarutobii2 that the team lacks some unique skills, Mitsuki's abilities overlap with Boruto's and Sarada is a combination of her own parents, but that will hopefully be changed over the course of of the series.
From the conversation between Ao and the Kara guy, I feel more confident in my theory that Ao is some kind of a double agent/spy. Like for all we know, he could be the one who took the vessel, or atleast trying to make Kara think he's working for them to retrieve the vessel. For a greater cause I believe, for the Shinobi world?
Well you can also say that he tried to kill Boruto and the rest, so he can't be a good guy, but Itachi kind of killed his own clan as a double agent/spy for his village and the Shinobi world. So I guess sacrifices shouldn't be a question.
And if you think more about it, how he explained to Boruto on how Tech depends on how you use it, and all, and how suddenly appeared to be, you can either call it, a psychopathic villain hiding as a good guy, or a hero who pretends to be a psychopathic villain, and you know about Itachi.
So, Ao very well could be the Itachi in Boruto. Though this is just my own honest opinion.
What I'd like to see more than Ao fighting with team 7 is how Boruto and Mitsuki mastered the purple lightening. It's developed by Kakashi so it won't be such a basic technique which anyone can perform so Boruto and Mitsuki should've done some serious training to master it and considering there was no kinda time skip, it seems so unlikely of Boruto and Mitsuki to use such an advanced techinque.

We have no idea of the scope or complexity of the technique. So we have no idea about how advanced it is.

Yeah true but considering it was meant as a replacement for chidori, I highly doubt that it's complexity will be so low that some genins would be able to learn it in a few days without getting proper guidance since we never saw Kakashi ever in the Boruto manga. He's never interacted ever with Boruto in the manga and only once in the anime during the graduation exams.
C`mon, if Kakashi was allowed to pass on his signature Chidori technique to Sasuke, I'm sure there's nothing wrong in him probably teaching modern ninja his Purple Lightning. In the anime, it seems like Kakashi is pretty close to Naruto's family and by proxy Boruto, that's why he could maybe teach Boruto some Lightning Release moves. Although we yet have to see Kakashi interracting with Mitsuki, the latter is pretty talented and has skills in Lightning Release, so he should also be able to master the technique without problems. These are two ninja prodigies we're talking about, after all.

So far i've seen nothing that makes me think it's special or different in any way. Chidori is difficult because it both uses nature transform and shape transform for a highly localized, high damage attack. It requires immense speed and so immense reflexes.
What we've seen of Purple Lightning so far is that it's chakra in one's palm that occasionally shoots out. It seems no more complex than any other lightning jutsu.

True. In the Anime at least, we saw them train and fight quite a bit. Boruto's Kote jutsu were certainly within the realm of what he could do (since nobody questioned that he made those jutsu, and it wasn't until his mass Shadow Clones that Naruto - and only Naruto- got suspicious.) It's entirely possible that he learned Purple Lightning from Kakashi somewhere after graduation (or has yet to learn it in the Manga). Mitsuki is a known Lightning release user, so he may have picked it up from Kakashi just by observing.
No difficulty is listed for the jutsu, so we simply have no idea about the complexity there.

Yes, that's what I was talking about. I have no problem in Boruto using purple lightening but we should see him train. We know how much everyone trained in naruto for each jutsu. Even Sasuke was a prodigy but he had trained continuously for a simple fireball jutsu and even the tree climbing. And in no case do I think that Boruto or Mitsuki are itachi level prodigies. Here we don't even know how much they trained or by which method they trained. We are only assuming things that might have happened. Also, if there was a possible time skip under which Boruto went to train under Kakashi, they should've told us that. There's so much we have to assume and that is not expected of any reader. And it's not only purple lightening, what about gale palm and Boruto stream. I know Boruto developed "Boruto stream" on his own but how did he get the idea? How did he train to use it? They should explain these kinds of things. It would make the show more interesting than it is now.
