Man, still no thread up for this? Guess it just goes to show how interested people are in this Shikamaru arc. Speaking of which, was Soku this annoying in the light novel?

I also wonder what was with all the shouting in this episode. When you enter enemy territory undercover you don't shout out for everyone to hear that you are undercover ninjas. -_-;;

Soku's annoying, I knew from the very beginning that the innkeeper is fake and Shikamaru's plan was 1) predictable and 2) relied way too much on Soku's whims, rather than calculation. Also, why would the Silence-shinobi just leave Shikamaru and the other dude lying there? Did they think there were no possible concerns with two dead bodies just lying right in front of their door? It's just poor writing, really.
What I like though is that they use the old OST again. Good stuff.
Have to agree. Shikamaru's plans felt too obvious. I liked the reintroduction of old tracks though, that's the only thing that saved it lol.
I am sincere, I don't like this arc. I would have preferred episodes of Gaara Hiden.
I don't care about Soku one bit.
Just hoping that Kishimoto considers adapting Sakura Hiden (just for that bondage scene) and Konoha Hiden now.
> implying that Kishimoto has anything to do with the anime and its adaptations.
Shikamaru's plan was obvious to anyone who already knew Shikamaru, but strangers who didn't know his personality or anything? I feel the plan went pretty smoothly.
The whole "let's leave these bodies out here." thing was stupid though.

I want to see Sakura Hiden adapted primarily due to this scene in the novel where she's described as bursting out of a rooftop coated in chakra. I'd gotten a very badass mental image from that scene and would love to see it animated.
Anyway, my biggest gripe with this episode was that it pretty much started with filler. I've read the novel, and they didn't even bother starting off accurately adapting it. Funnily, I know I'm the only one who cares, but I hold these novels dear and would like to see them adapted as faithfully as humanly possible.
