Oranges and apples are different no matter how you slice it. They have many similarities, like being fruit and having seeds, but they're still individual fruits with their own names. Same thing for Harry Potter and Naruto. They have similarities and their differences, but that's what could make them relatable.
If that's what you believe.
So what? Are you going to say that they're the same no matter how you slice it?
Is Naruto going to pull a wand out of his ass and suddenly start chanting against Kaguya? What's next? Visiting Hiruzen in his dreams?
That's not what I was saying at all! Why are you all of the sudden getting so defensive? All I said was that they are so far different to even be remotely similar. Aside from both losing their parents and both villians having snake origins, they aren't similar in the slightest. And even, those two similarities are so far different.
I'm not being defensive, I'm being sarcastic. You're looking at the two from a literary stand-point. I"m telling you to look at it from outside the box. Of course the Nine Tailed Fox isn't telling Harry to use its magiks, and of course Orochimaru isn't the final villain or whatever.
Instead, the two know what it's like to be treated so differently from others. The two knows what it's like to be treated as a hero. The two know what it's like to actually have faith and depend on others. The two know what it's like to face their inner demons. The two know what it's like to have others look over and guide them. Of course, literately, they're far from different. But as human beings they have a lot more in common (unless it turns out that, y'know, one of them is from outer space). That's why I claimed that they're both relatable. They have similarities, but you need to just step out the box for a minute and step away to really look at the frame.
