As you might know, the forums will be no more soon (if everything is on schedule).

I've made a discord channel to accommodate the need to have important discussions regarding the wiki, since there's no good way to categorize in the upcoming Discussions feature.

I've also added channels for other discussions for any other user who'd like to join.

I also have roles for the sysops and bureaucrats who decide to join and will add them as soon as the verify on my talkpage their discord ID.

Highly recommended for staff to join, since I think this will be the main way staff communicates to discuss anything about the wiki once Forum (and possibly Talkpages) disappear.

Correct. They plan to move it to the Discussions feature they have now, which can't categorize threads and as far as I know has no search function. Threads show up in more of a feed manner. Here's a link to My Hero Academia's Discussions page to show what will replace the forums.

No highlights, no searches, etc. You can only sort by "new" and hot." It'd be hard to get all the staff to see a discussion if there's a chance it'd just be lost in the feed. That's why a Discord was made.

I made the discord with the main intent being for staff members to have an easy place to communicate, but I also have text threads in it for regular discussions in case other users liked Discord more then the Discussions Feature

Issues with Discussions seem a little different than described.

Missing highlights could be a problem, I can't check what is available
To my knowledge there doesn't appear to be a search for this forum either. Although the new forum's lack of concise list view without post content could make finding things a bigger issue than it is in this forum.
The UI is crappy, but it does appear that Discussions has the concept of forum categories and filtering. It's just in an unintuitive "FILTER ^" dropdown opposite to the hot/new. Instead of starting with a forum list. Which could be worked around for news stuff by providing a direct link.
