Idk, but whoever made this either isnt clear in the Sannin's abilities or hates them, cause this isn't fair
at Riptide, Itachi himself said that in his current state, after using tsukuyomi twice(one against Kakashi and then again against Sasuke leaving him low on chakra, and it was confirmed he got his illness after killing his clan but before he returned to Konoha.. by Kisame's statement about him being sick and needing to rest) that he could tie Jiraiya then as they were leaving Kisame pretty much thinks he is full of shit and says they shouldn't be retreating because Itachi could take Jiraiya himself(chapter 148 page 7 Kisame says something along the lines of "Why are we running away? You should be able to..") So It short, neither of the 3 Sannin could take Itachi.
edit
Izuna, Obito, and Itachi in one v one against any of the Sannin? they win no doubts. 3 v 3? They can beat the 3 Sannin for sure. Even at their best abilities shown, all 3 Sannin could not beat the 3 Uchiha...
Although it would be a good battle, the Uchiha would win in the end. Even if Itachi is sick, and Jiraiya would most likely beat him, but Izuna and Obito are too much. Orochimaru would definitely get defeated by Izuna considered he was MS Madara's equal during their era, although Orochimaru be a bitch to kill I think Izuna could figure out something, but it's hard to say since we haven't seen Izuna do much. Obito vs Tsunade would be Obito winning for sure because Tsunade is way too slow to touch him. So even if Jiraiya defeats Itachi, and then Jiraiya assist with Izuna and Obito, he would probably lose regardless. So in the end, I say the Uchiha win.
Found the lines from chapter 148 page 7
"Kisame: Why did we have to retreat...? With your power... Itachi: There's no need to be impatient... None. Besides which I must also... rest my body in one place for the foreseeable future. For not only Tsukuyomi, the nightmare realm... But I was forced to use the Amaterasu as well..."
another line
"Kisame: Hm....after all that the fool's spirit is intact...meanwhile you've overused those eyes of yours, you know that's dangerous." Implying it is bad for his health, meaning he is indeed sick besides getting tired and eyesight getting weaker, as it only made Sasuke tired and left his eyesight weaker each time.
@QuakingStar That doesn't change the fact that Sage Mode probably wasn't even thought of at that point, so even if Jiraiya was equal to a sick Itachi in Part 1, in Part 2 when Sage Mode was introduced and Jiraiya had Fukasaku and Shima as well as the other toad summons to help him I say he would have a much better chance at beating Itachi then. Even with his susanoo, I don't see Itachi countering that sound-based genjutsu that Fukasaku and Shima have or Jiraiya's Sage Art: Ultra Big-Ball Rasengan or his Wild Lion's Mane hair jutsu that could restrain Pain's giant crab summon. Jiraiya would be fast enough to avoid the totsuka blade and the yata mirror only defends against nature transformations, and even if it could counter his rasengan. He cannot maintain it for very long at all, and he would shorten his lifespan by using it. He could use tsukuyomi and amaterasu, but Jiraiya has shown that he can counter amaterasu and the two toad sages should be able to break him out of the genjutsu or Jiraiya can simply not look in his eyes since he becomes a sensor in Sage Mode. So that's why I believe that SM Jiraiya could beat MS Itachi, but I don't think Orochimaru could beat MS Izuna even though he's featless simply because he was equal to MS Madara. While Tsunade obviously can't take Obito cause he's too fast for her.
Itachi not sick would win against Jiraiya, as as an edo they obviously can't get sick and even though they are weaker as edo's he still was able to tie Kurama Cloak Naruto in speed and fight off him and Killer Bee quite easily.. the same strength difference gain Madara experienced when coming to life Itachi would experience when coming to life.. Jiraiya wouldn't win against THAT Itachi. Specifics are needed for the Uchiha side.. is Itachi sick? is he an edo? if he is an Edo or not sick, none of the 3 Sannin can beat him 1 on 1 ever.. if he is sick he could either tie or barely lose to Jiraiya.. Yet he would still beat the other 2 Sannin one v one.
@Quaking I'm pretty sure this is when they're alive, the strongest they were when alive. He didn't mention anything about them being edo tensei. Anyway, we don't know how strong a non-sick Itachi is, so we cannot use that in the debate. Also, he didn't tie a NTCM Naruto in speed at all. They literally exchanged blows for like 10 seconds and Naruto wasn't trying to harm him or blitz him at all as they discussed Sasuke the whole time, and Killer B wasn't using Gyuki's power when he fought Itachi either. The main reason Madara was so strong when he came back to life is because he pretty much stole all of Hashirama's Senjutsu Chakra that made him uber strong and he was able to use the full power of his real Rinnegan now. But since we're going based on the strongest they were alive, then I say Jiraiya wins for sure.
Izuna who? Shisui who? No I'm just joking. Itachi has this in the bag because it seems everyone in Naruto is stupid enough to look into the Uchiha's eyes. He also has the ability to point and place genjutsu. But no in all seriousness, the Uchihas win this Sid mid difficulty. Jiraiya would have Sage Mode and the Ma and Pa can seemingly help with countering genjutsu to an extent. I don't see much from Izuna as he hasn't been given much time, but he was never stated to be a specialist at genjutsu, at least not on Itachi's level. Tsunade, can be assumed she's decent in genjutsu at the very least being a medical-nin. Orochimaru apparently has his capabilities in the art of genjutsu as well.
For power scaling, Tsunade has her incredible strength, healing abilities, stamina and strength of a hundred. Jiraiya has his Sage Mode which would help a lot, his fire techniques, and Needle Jizō techniques. Orochimaru has his immortality, snake techniques (ultimate include the white snaske form and Eight Branches Technique), his Rashōmon walls, and sword.
Izuna has the Sharingan, average genjutsu, and could do the Fire Ball jutsu. That's about as much we get from him to sum it all up. Shisui has his Kotoamatsukami which could influence theiur oiwn team-mate to attack one another, and is renown for his Body Flicker. Game data, Shisui also has the Susanoo. Itachi counted down as the gest genjutsu user (screw what the databooks say for Shisui). Itachi has a few good ninjutsu attacks and the Sharingan. He has Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, and Susanoo, with the Yata Mirror, Tosuke Blade and can shoot Yasaka Magatama.
This would be a battle unlike any other but the Uchihas would win with mid difficulty. Sannin dead with the exception of Orochimaru who most likely gets sealed and Izuna possibly dying.
Legendary.. wrong again. He could not bust out of Hashirama's god gates or sai's ink seal until he came back to life... with NO EYES. Besides coming back to life didn't make his Rinnegan stronger, it just gave him full access to its other techs like Limbo. He only stole Senjutsu after he got his one eye back. He got much stronger just by coming back to life, no senjutsu involved and no eyeballs, therefore any edo who comes back to life would get the same amount of an increase in power including Itachi. He barely lost to Hashirama as an Edo but once he came back to life he was stronger than Edo Hashirama. Why does it feel like nobody ever reads what I try to explain to them? I swear I have told you this a few times before...

Thats not the case, it depends on the users mastery of the technique. Tobirama clearly stated that they were revived with clise to their full power. When Kabuto revived Madara, he wasn't THAT good at it. Orochimaru absorbed Kabuto's knowledge and enhanced it on his own. So maybe Itachi would, but not the Hokage
