Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (BORUTO―ボルト― ―NARUTO NEXT GENERATIONS―, Boruto: Naruto Nekusuto Jenerēshonzu) is an upcoming monthly manga series written by Ukyō Kodachi and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto, which will be supervised by original manga creator Masashi Kishimoto. The series serves as official continuation of the Naruto franchise.[1] It adapts the storyline of Boruto: Naruto the Movie and then continues the story afterwards. The manga will launch on May 9, 2016 in the 23rd issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump,[2] with a one-shot created by Kishimoto preceding it.[3][4] Viz Media has announced that it will simultaneously publish the series and the one-shot in English in its Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine.[5]
