This technique allows the user to take a cloak or a piece of cloth to blend into an object, making them invisible. Konohamaru Sarutobi used this technique to try and fool people, but used poor disguises, such as square rocks with eye-holes, cloaks that were incorrectly patterned, rotated the wrong way around, or simply not covering himself completely, thus betraying the illusion.

While only a basic skill, in the anime, Magire Kakuremino was able to effectively camouflage himself without the use of a pre-prepared cloth and freely move about, all while blending in with his surroundings.[2]
