As noted here we've got an upgrade to MediaWiki 1.15.1 coming up soon. The wiki here will be upgraded September 2nd, the rest of Wikia is going to be upgraded August 26th, we're being delayed because we're the wiki with the 7th most traffic on all of Wikia (we were at 10 when we upgraded to 1.14, we're tailing right behind yugioh.wikia right now) and we have a pretty unique set of custom extensions.
The key point here, is that theoretically the 1.15.1 upgrade is what should make AbuseFilter start working correctly. When the upgrade comes around we can fiddle with AbuseFilter and see if we can get it to help inform new users making bad edits, and block certain types of repeat obvious vandalism. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Aug 25, 2009 @ 03:30 (UTC)
