There is some guy that is ruining pages of narutopedia replacing it with "lol", "DBZ rules" and "ninjas suck" can you guys please fix this? Here's his IP adress

It's probably one of those users from the Dragon Ball Wiki. -White Flash-(Talk)- 15:53, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Well the IP claimed it was an One Piece Wiki attack. Trying to start a Wiki war I guess. -White Flash-(Talk)- 16:09, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
I've already asked Jacce to permaban all the IP's who've massively vandalised this wiki. Now you see why the wiki should be set up to be edited only by registered users ? Such a measure would stop this kind of vandalism. --Speysider (Talk Page) 16:10, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
That would be great, however an IP can still create an account and then vandalize the pages. -White Flash-(Talk)- 16:12, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
True, but if someone wanted to vandalise the wiki, I doubt they'd go to the trouble of making an account. Vandals simply want to find the wiki and not waste any time destroying the pages, so they won't really make an account. Having never seen the registration system for ages on here, I assume there are anti-spam measures in place to stop these users. --Speysider (Talk Page) 16:14, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
@White Flash: Actually, when we admins block an IP, we are given the choice of whether preventing the IP to make an account. What to guess how I choose? Jacce | Talk | Contributions 16:18, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
If an IP is block here and creates an account on a different Wiki, will that account still be able to edit here? -White Flash-(Talk)- 16:23, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Probably. But when an account is blocked, the IP addresses that the user has been using is also blocked. So we are prepared. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 16:28, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
So, what about the IP? Is it really from the Once Piece Wiki or just someone who spends way too much time on the Internet? -White Flash-(Talk)- 16:31, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
I would guess the latter. It hasn't made any edits on One piece wiki. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 16:35, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

I know the recent past vandals of the Dragon Ball Wiki, talk about petty. That IP could have an account on the One Piece wiki and started to vandalize while in his/her IP. -White Flash-(Talk)- 16:38, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

Anything is possible. But it is blocked now. It won't hurt us. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 16:41, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Probably someone from a DBZ wiki trying to trigger a war between Naruto and One Piece wikis. A few months ago, there were a users from DBZ wikis that came here vandalising, claiming to be from One Piece wiki. They were logged in their accounts, so I could check their usernames, and see in which other wikis they were active. They were only trolls from DBZ wikis trying to put Naruto and One Piece against each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same in the One Piece wiki claiming to be from this wiki. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 17:51, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
You think we should talk to the Admins over at the DB Wiki about this or will they ignored us? -White Flash-(Talk)- 18:22, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
If they ignore us, we can complain to the central wiki. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 18:24, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Don't really think that would make any difference, those users were from about four of five different dbz wikis, and most of them, if not all, were pretty much abandoned fanon/rpg wikis, kinda like those that no one actually runs. One thing I did though, was to alert a sysop from the OP wiki in case someone goes vandalise them claiming to be one of us. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 18:27, March 18, 2012 (UTC)
Even if they ignored us, I think complaining over at Community Central isn't going to help, it might start some commotion, what with the DB wiki and Bleach Wiki incident, many users started to join in. So I guess the only thing to do is to go with Omnibender's plan. -White Flash-(Talk)- 18:40, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

I go out for a few hours and this happens >.> So now that they've been banned and our house tidied up... do we seek retribution?--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol 19:00, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

Like it matters. I bet they're laughing it up as we know it. -White Flash-(Talk)- 19:30, March 18, 2012 (UTC)

Volumes Page Clean Up

Also what about the Volumes page? Volume 58 Naruto Vs Itachi is listed like eight times and has been for months. Was wondering if someone could fix that? —This unsigned comment was made by (talkcontribs) .

That is something only the guys from central wiki can fix, as it's a bug in the wiki software. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 11:34, March 22, 2012 (UTC)

I'm sorry, I don't really know how wiki programming works, but unless there's already a backup system in place for pages, maybe you should consider backing up pages (particularly the main pages e.g. Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi, etc.) into a Microsoft Works document, or something. Just a thought to help defend against the vandals.--Catero5 (talk) 22:54, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Not really, that is what undoing and roll back(for mods and amids) powers are for.Umishiru (talk) 22:57, March 31, 2012 (UTC)

Some regular users can also have rollback rights. I believe there are a few users here who are neither bureaucrats or sysops that have access to that tool. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:26, March 31, 2012 (UTC)
@Omni: I've been doing that since I registered. --KiumaruHamachi (talk) 01:05, April 1, 2012 (UTC)KiumaruHamachi

U mean that undo option ? I hv it from beginning Salil dabholkar (talk) 16:13, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Rollback !== undo. Undo means that you undo only the latest revision: rollback allows you to go back multiple revisions. Apparently Dantman can give that privilege but he is never at this wiki so it is unknown whom you are supposed to go to for getting rollback permissions. --Speysider (Talk Page) 17:05, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Leave a message on his talk page and wait for him to answer. Jacce | Talk | Contributions 17:39, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
I did do exactly that and I have never received any kind of response to indicate he actually does those requests. --Speysider (Talk Page) 17:49, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
I just posted recently. Honestly I really want to have my rollback status. Dantman I think is quite busy. xD
--IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 18:12, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
See his profile for the reason why he hasn't seen your messages. -White Flash-(Talk)- 18:50, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Just great. So is there someone else who can give us rollback powers that has a working notification system? --Speysider (Talk Page) 18:52, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Only Bureaucrats have the abilities to grant other users Rollback/Sysop rights. He's the only active one. -White Flash-(Talk)- 18:56, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

Yeah, and only Dantman is the bureaucrat here. --IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 19:05, April 3, 2012 (UTC)

So pretty much we are denied Rollback. We need more bureaucrats here. --Speysider (Talk Page) 19:11, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Let's wait for his answer. I agree, as well as one most active member to be promoted as an admin. BTW I read somewhere if there will be a candidate for a bureaucrat, it'll be most likely TheUltimate3.
Yeah! --IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 19:26, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
By checking Special:Listusers/rollback, there's not that many active rollback users. -White Flash-(Talk)- 21:45, April 3, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, IMO there are so many deserving users to be a rollback user. Yeah, the only most active rollback user is only Deva27. The wiki needs to remove inactive rollback users and add those who are quite active.
--IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 10:11, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

u r right. Except deva27 all are inactive. even if thats true the admins have rollback rights so no need to get tensed Salil dabholkar (talk) 10:22, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

I know that, but still I want to have my rollback rights because I want to help the wiki better. IMO Speysider wants to have that power same as my reasons.
--IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 10:36, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
IndxcvNovelist is quite right for the reasons why I want Rollback. The admins aren't here 24/7 and there have been times when the wiki has been mass-vandalised and there haven't been any admins to stop it. Hence, the reason why we need Rollback. --Speysider (Talk Page) 10:57, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
Yeah, right! We're more active than admins. A mass vandalism happened to me one time when I faced the vandal alone. Sometimes vandals create consecutive edits we can't just undo.
--IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 13:34, April 4, 2012 (UTC)
You need to earn them, asking for rights is not going to help. -White Flash-(Talk)- 21:02, April 4, 2012 (UTC)

I know that, but we're not asking for it ASAP, we're just suggesting it. We can accept a 'NO' answer, though. --IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me) 11:06, April 5, 2012 (UTC)

^ this. Having no response is rather aggrieving and having only one bureaucrat makes it worse. --Speysider (Talk Page) 11:40, April 5, 2012 (UTC)
His last logged-in was March 20 as seen in Special:Listusers/bureaucrat, the only option to contact him is to send him a message via Email. -White Flash-(Talk)- 04:04, April 6, 2012 (UTC)
just click on older edit and then on undo Salil2212Uchiha Symbol 04:15, April 8, 2012 (UTC)
