Fuen (フエン) is a kunoichi and part of the group of grave robbers who have dug up four of the dead Twelve Guardian Ninja. She is the strategist and trap expert of the group and is widely thought of as the weakest member of the team.

Personality

Fuen is portrayed as having a superiority-complex. As a strategist, she has a high opinion of her intellect and skills. She is easily bored in battle and gets enjoyment when an opponent can prove themselves capable of surviving the initial phase of her strategy. This was shown from how she had hoped to face Sai again after he outmanoeuvred her.

Part II

Fire Temple arc

Fuen was first seen with Fudo searching for the graves of the lightning-chakra users of the Twelve Guardian Ninja. She appears again during her team's confrontation with Team Yamato where she took advantage of Fudo's powerful earth-based jutsu. Utilizing her unique terrain-altering jutsu, she turned the entire battlefield into a giant maze of traps that Team Yamato barely survived.

During the invasion of Konoha, Fuen ensured that no Leaf villager could escape by summoning a giant barrier around the village. After their plan was discovered, Fuen went of to stop anyone from interfering and came across Sakura. Fuen managed to trap her in a small rock cave, where she then performed a genjutsu with poisonous moths all over the cave. When Fuen stops the illusion she stabs the body, only to find that it is a fake. The real Sakura then appears behind Fuen and punches her through trees, immobilizing her body. Sakura then ridicules Fuen for not being aware of her own limitations in battle and finishes her off by hitting Fuen into the ground with her immense strength, creating a giant crater and deactivating the barrier around Konoha.

Abilities

Fuen specializes in indirect and misdirection tactics. Her most noticeable abilities allow her to draw certain things on her map, and manipulate any terrain she wants. These terrains cannot be returned to normal, unless she were to die, rolls up her map, or moves to a different location. She is also very skilled in genjutsu and poisons as well. She is able to combine the two, and cause a genjutsu paralysis on the opponent making it twice as deadly. Her final ability is to perform powerful sealing jutsu as demonstrated with her Barrier Gate Five Seals Technique: Castle Closing Eight Gates. As she relies more on deception and attacking from a far, her close-range combat abilities are rather weak.
