Temari's giant folding fan has three purple circles along its body that she calls stars. The strength of the gusts of wind she creates is indicated by how many "stars" ("moons" in the English dub) are shown (one being the weakest, three being the strongest). The fan itself can also be used as a club or to block attacks. Temari's fan also seems to be able to deflect kunai and shuriken when opened and planted into the ground. This suggests that the fan may be made out of some sort of steel instead of paper.
