The strength of the gusts of wind she creates is indicated by how many "stars" ("moons" in the English dub) are shown (one being the weakest, three being the strongest). The fan itself can also be used as a club or to block attacks. Temari's fan also seems to be able to deflect kunai and shuriken when opened and planted into the ground. This suggests that the fan is made out of some sort of steel rather than paper.

This is a giant Japanese war fan that has three purple circles along its body that she calls stars. The strength of the gusts of wind she creates is indicated by how many "stars" ("moons" in the English dub) are shown (one being the weakest, three being the strongest). The fan itself can also be used as a club or to block attacks. Temari's fan also seems to be able to deflect kunai and shuriken when opened and can also be planted into the ground. This suggests that the fan is made out of some sort of steel rather than paper.

Trivia

  • During the Fourth Shinobi World War, two other Sunagakure shinobi were seen wielding similar fans alongside Temari.[1] This might be an indication that the use of these fans may be a skill taught in the village.
