Hiramekarei is a double-handled sword wielded by Chōjūrō. The Hiramekarei has two holes in the upper end of the blade that shoot out chakra, which can seemingly be formed into weapons such as a hammer. However, it is apparently heavy, as Chōjūrō tires easily from carrying it.

According to Suigetsu, this is the only sword still in Kirigakure's possession out of the original seven.

Trivia

  • Both hirame and karei are Japanese names for species of flounders. The flounders with their eyes on the left side of their body are called hirame (鮃, 平目, 比目魚), while those with their eyes on the right side are called karei (). Befitting its name, Hiramekarei is shaped like a fish.
  • Hirame can also come from hirameku (閃く, "to flash," or "to flicker"). Karei can also mean splendor (華麗).
  • Mangetsu Hōzuki, might have been the previous owner of this sword since he was one of the previous generation of Seven Swordsman but was not seen using his sword like the other revived swordsman. Given Fuguki Suikazan was the previous owner of Samehada, and his sword is currently in the possession of Killer Bee.
