Iwana Akame (赤目イワナ, Akame Iwana) is a chūnin of Konohagakure.
Background[]
In the past, Iwana participated in a foreign espionage mission, where he was attacked and lost his left eye. In the anime, he and Bekkō were seen alongside Daikoku Funeno at the Academy, watching Itachi Uchiha get attacked by bullies.[2]
Personality[]
Iwana loathes Naruto Uzumaki and thinks that he should be captured and punished for stealing the Scroll of Seals. In the anime, he showed himself as a teacher who worried about the students, who immediately rushed to separate the fighting.
Appearance[]
Iwana's attire is that of the standard Konoha shinobi complete with a flak jacket and a forehead protector which he wears like a bandanna. He also wears an eye-patch over his left eye.

Prologue — Land of Waves[]
Main article: Prologue — Land of Waves Iwana was one of the many shinobi who gathered to track down Naruto after he stole the Scroll of Seals from the Hokage's residence.
Trivia[]
- Akame (赤目) means red, or bloodshot eyes, possibly referring to his eye patch. It is also the Japanese name of the Japanese lates (Lates japonicus), a fish that is so rare and shy, it has received an almost legendary status among fishermen.
- Iwana (岩魚、鮇) is also the name of a fish, or more specifically, of several species of fish from the Salvelinus genus, often called char or charr in English.
