Mikoto Uchiha is the mother of Itachi Uchiha and Sasuke Uchiha she is the wife of Fugaku Uchiha. While she was alive, she seemed to like Sasuke better where her husband seemed to prefer Itachi. She was a very good mother, seeing is how Sasuke was able to talk to her better than his father. At one point, in order to cheer Sasuke up, she says that when her and Fugaku are alone Sasuke is all he talks about. She was found dead with her husband, killed by Itachi. Although she was Itachi's mother, she did have some suspicion about Itachi and knew that something was up. In the end she died because of Madara Uchiha, because he was the one who caused the Uchiha clan to fight with the Senju clan. If the Third Hokage had not ordered the Uchiha clan destroyed, there would be consequences.
Apparently her sons appearance came from her, above all her eyes and hair color.
