Who can be nominated?[]

All active users in good standing are eligible for nomination and may be nominated by any other active user. However nominators should take into account the nominee's suitability for the role, in order to avoid creating an excess of poorly suitable nominations that must be rejected.

A good nominee:

  • Has experience on the wiki and understands its rules.
  • Is responsible enough not to misuse the tools given to them.
  • Uses their current ability to edit responsibly; instead of misusing in in ways like edit warring.
  • Communicates civilly with other members of the community.
  • Ideally would have a history of cleaning up and helping out the wiki in ways that an administrator's tools may assist.
  • Should understand that administrators serve the community and are friendly guides; not a status symbol to be attained.

How to make a nomination?[]

Nominations for new administrators and discussions moderators should be made on this page's talkpage using the following templates.

After the nomination is created, all the wiki's active administrators should be notified of the nomination.

How does the nomination process work?[]

The nominations process is a consensus gathering process. The primary goal is to allow members of the community to bring up potential issues with the nomination and gauge how much the community trusts the nominated user.

As it is not an election, support and oppose numbers are not tallied up like votes. A decision is made based on the rationales members of the community give in their comments on the nomination.

  • Nominations start in the Neutral vote In Progress ({{InProgress}}) state
  • Nominations are left up for a period of more than several days to give all editors a chance to comment.
  • When a nomination is complete the Bureaucrat or Administrator (in the case of Discussions Moderators) who did the promotion if it was accepted should update the section to Green Check Done ({{Done}}) or otherwise Red X Rejected ({{Rejected}}) if the user was not promoted.
