Twelve years before the start of the series, the Nine-Tails attacked Konohagakure, destroying much of the village and taking many lives. The leader of the village, the Fourth Hokage sacrificed his life to seal the Nine-Tails into a newborn, Naruto Uzumaki. Orphaned by the attack, Naruto was shunned by the villagers, who out of fear and anger, viewed him as the Nine-Tails itself. Though the Third Hokage outlawed speaking about anything related to the Nine-Tails, the children — taking their cues from their parents — inherited the same animosity towards Naruto. In his thirst to be acknowledged, Naruto vowed he would one day become the greatest Hokage the village had ever seen. Read more...
Isshiki asks why Boruto thinks he can't kill him. Boruto thinks he's being obvious. Sasuke asks for an explanation. Boruto tells him what he learned about their plan from when he fought Boro. Sasuke links it to what Amado revealed about Isshiki's intentions, and Boruto concludes he's part of it, so Isshiki can't afford to kill him. In Konoha, Amado continues explaining Isshiki's plan, and reveals that for a Ten-Tails seedling to take root and grow into a God Tree, a living Ōtsutsuki must be fed to it. Isshiki muses on Boro having been defeated. Sasuke reveals they know of his plans, but Isshiki is indifferent, as he doesn't think they have the power to stop him even if they have the knowledge. As Isshiki approaches, Boruto threatens to kill himself with a kunai to stop his plan. Amado explains the reason Ōtsutsuki invade in pairs is so that one becomes a sacrifice for a God Tree, and the other one watches over it until it bears a chakra fruit. Katasuke questions how desirable the chakra fruit must be for the Ōtsutsuki to be willing to sacrifice themselves for it, but Kawaki reminds him that they have Kāma, Amado adding that the sacrificial Ōtsutsuki generally prepares a vessel for resurrection ahead of time. Sumire asks is this was Isshiki's and Kaguya's plan. Amado believes so on Isshiki's part, with Kaguya being the sacrifice as she was of a lower position in the clan, but she turned against him, so Isshiki would have had to carry on solo, sacrificing himself as he had no other Ōtsutsuki. |Boruto is frustrated he can't make his Rasengan more powerful. Shikadai tells him he fought Deepa during his mission, and only survived because of Shinki. He figures Boruto is training to fight Deepa, and threatens to stop him by force if necessary to prevent him from being so reckless. Shikadai thinks Boruto wants to get stronger because he hates Deepa, but Boruto denies it, and explains that fighting Deepa made him realise how inexperienced and lacking in power he is. Shikadai offers to help him train. Hinata arrives to give Boruto a lunchbox, and considers making an extra one for Shikadai. Sarada continues practising with Sasuke, now dodging kunai. She almost dodges them all, and Sasuke notices her problem is endurance, as she couldn't keep her Sharingan active during all of it. He congratulates her on improving her perception. During a break, Sasuke asks her how her eyes are taking the strain. Sarada says they're fine, and having researched about it and not found much, she asks him about the Mangekyō Sharingan. She asks if he thinks she can awaken it, but Sasuke postpones the conversation. Sakura arrives, and Sarada tells her of her progress. Sakura is concerned with the strain she's putting on herself, and Sasuke assures her he's making sure Sarada doesn't overdo it. Sakura gets agitated when Sarada mentions wanting to develop her Sharingan like Sasuke's. Sarada feels frustrated, believing her mother is being overprotective, and leaves. Read more...|
