Heres a suggestion, don't be a jerk, only pages related to naruto,no personal attacks,no vandilism,cite your sources,basicly like those on wikipedia Random123 01:48, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I got a basic set in mind. I'm just waiting for the Forum:Names discussion to come to a conclusion. Dantman (Talk) 06:08, 26 February 2007 (UTC)
- Shouldn't rule 4 of General Rules be "if u see 1, put the deletion tag"??..AlienGamer | Talk 18:49, 20 May 2009 (UTC)
Suggestion[]
You guys need a 1RV rule, but allowing admin discretion on when to ban in violations. I find the 3RV rule on WP ridiculous. Revert wars are bad, period. -Afker 00:34, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- While they are, I wouldn't want a 1RV rule, mainly because this wikia gets alot of vandals, which means alot of Reverting may be required. But I am not the authority, Dantman is.--TheUltimate3 00:57, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- Anti-vandals would obviously be written into the 1RV as an exception. d-: -Afker 02:47, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- I never liked a hard limit on reverts. Even with reverts that are for non-vandalism everything is not black and white on that kind of thing. I prefer to deal with edit reverts on a case-by-case basis, served with a fair helping of perspective, ^_^ lol.
- But TheUltimate3, I'm not the hard authority... The community is, It's just my job to try and understand what that community opinion is and try to find the best way to act on it.
- But as for the Rules, it would be nice if people could actually get in on Forum:Policies, Narutopedia and Wikia ACG, I'm trying to create an actual set of policies/principles/guidelines, this page here is an old stale set of rules which never had any real validity. In simple terms... This page is just a farce meant to take up linkspace so people can see the RulesIndex. And to give new users a set of fake rules to try and use common sense with, but let the community deal with things when issues arise.
- But I wouldn't go for any sort of #RR, rather I'd put it in with the "Dispute" section, which would provide guidelines on how to deal with things like edit wars and other dispute cases. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) current discussion Dec 14, 2007 @ 02:59 (UTC)
Manual of Style[]
This isn't a manual. It's a general set of rules. A MOS is more intricat, going into nuances to make the wiki more enjoyable to read and also more comprehensive. I read the Naruto Uzumaki article and it is mixed with past and present tense. I changed some of it but then I thought Maybe the MOS is different here. I find no vandalism and pretty much 3/4 of the rest is about Point of View. I mean come on, go to Wookiepedia's(not sure how to make the link work) it was at least a standard peice of printer paper long the last time I looked (Relatively recently). Then I see you have another section on the appropriate way to make a charachter page. It's a TEMPLATE. I have nothing wrong with that exept: "How do I put what I'm writing down into the article." Are there perameters for paragraph lenght?. Is there a spoiler warning infobox, or do I put at the top of the section: "Spoiler warning"? (I think we should have those types of boxes by the way. It adds personalization. Most of the articles are pretty much "stolen" from wikipedia so if I were someone looking for info why wouldn't I just look there.) Please try and make it better. - If you respond to this please put a message on my talk page that you did so I can come here and read it NaruHina Talk07:33, 11 July 2008 (UTC)
- This page is actually just a real old and irrelevant base. A lot of the policies around here are informally picked up by the active members and passed around when someone does something wrong. I've had the Forum:Policies, Narutopedia and Wikia ACG page up for awhile now hoping to draft a real set of base policies and a MoS. Also there's Forum:Manual of Style This page itself is just a basic set of stuff I wrote up ages ago for another wiki, got copied around as a placeholder, and is mostly out of date. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) current discussion Jul 11, 2008 @ 22:19 (UTC)
A new criterion[]
- Hi, I suggest that we write a criterion about plagiarism. --Tserg (talk) 20:30, October 18, 2009 (UTC)
- Plagiarism and copyright are universal, we don't need to state things like that. Plus this page is old, out of date, and a little misplaced, I'd rather delete it. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Oct 18, 2009 @ 22:14 (UTC)
- And where are we going to see the rules?:) Not all people 'd like to transfer to other wikias searching for rules. As you might know, novices hate such a thing the most :))) --Tserg (talk) 06:36, October 19, 2009 (UTC)
- Wiki generally don't have "Rules", some policies and some common sense of "Do something stupid, and you won't be happy with the response". This rules page originated from the Gaiapedia, it's overboard in what it lists and doesn't fit a wiki well. This is much more the style of page you'd see on a forum, rather than a wiki. ~NOTASTAFF Daniel Friesen (DanTMan, Nadir Seen Fire) (talk) Oct 19, 2009 @ 17:06 (UTC)
