Takamaru (タカ丸) is a messenger hawk for Sunagakure.
Appearance[]
Takamaru looks like a normal hawk with brown plumage and brown eyes. The inside of his wings is beige, and both his beak and his legs are a dull yellow. He is seen wearing a grey message bag on his back held by a strap around his neck.
Ablities[]
Takamaru is stated as being Sunagakure's fastest messenger bird[1] — only rivalled by his son Tobimaru.[2]

Kazekage Rescue Mission[]
Main article: Kazekage Rescue Mission He's first seen when carrying a message to Konohagakure, saying that Gaara had been kidnapped by Akatsuki. He was last seen flying around Konohagakure after Team 7 had returned after rescuing Gaara.

- "Taka" (鷹), means "hawk", while "-maru" (丸) is a common suffix for male names meaning "perfection" or "full circle".
- The fourth databook connects Takamaru and Tobimaru as father and son. However, Takamaru's given age in the third databook is three years,[1] while Tobimaru was said to be five in the fourth databook.[2]
