Madara[]

In 501, did he use this or did the kunai just come from inside his sleeve? I see something there, but it could be lines to show movement instead of the wire. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 23:32, July 8, 2010 (UTC)

it's a wire. SimAnt 23:42, July 8, 2010 (UTC)
Nix. I thought of that, but you do not see the wire afterwards, plus in 500 he had his sleeve to far back to conceal any weapons. Looks more (yes I know it sounds obsessive) Summoning: Kunai Knife. Thomas Finlayson (talk) 01:20, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
We don't know how far along the arm the mechanism is. We never saw it entirely, just the kunai and the wire. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 01:22, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
  • Edit Conflict* [1] You can see a thick line. Also, no one said that the wire could not detach from its launcher/mechanism. SimAnt 01:24, July 9, 2010 (UTC)
  1. Some might find being able to throw the knife by detaching the wire okay, but then why have the wire in the first place?
  2. There is apparently a limit to how far you can have the launcher and still activate it (wrist muscles or something), and since it is a weapon made for stealth and speedy use, the closer it is to the wrist the faster it can be used (and yes milliseconds could make a difference)
  3. Not entirely sure if those wires actually movement lines (could go either way I admit). Thomas Finlayson (talk) 02:49, July 9, 2010 (UTC)

Jiraiya[]

Jiraiya used something similar to this in the most recent anime episode, when he was hanging off of the bottom of a bridge. Should he be added? I wasn't sure because I'm not sure if it'd need to be spring-loaded to count. Skitts (talk) 23:29, November 3, 2011 (UTC)

Ability[]

Isn't this technique sort of similar to how Hanzo Hasashi, a.k.a. Scorpion, does it from Mortal Kombat? I mean, the kunai is hidden within the sleeve or anything that conceals the ninjas' bottom forearm(s) while launching the kunai that is spring-loaded.
