Infobox Image

I agree with Cerez, the current one is fine. --Speysider (Talk Page) 12:32, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
I know it's quite better but (No erase this) Yeah Cerez, that's why I suggested this. It's too close, the forehead protector is in a bad angle. Besides, in my image her face is quite clean. Didn't you guys said we shouldn't have too close images (at first I'm preferring closeness haha)? —IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me|My Wiki) 12:36, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
That's true. I hate how people swap and change their choices between the articles. --Speysider (Talk Page) 12:46, April 16, 2012 (UTC)
Oh my gosh I think you're referring to how indxcv (indecisive) I am. Nevermind the suggestion up there, though. We should have a talk about the image, what kind of image we're using, I'm getting confused. I don't like too close, I like image that shows their entire head. Some articles have too-close images, some have far (example being Naruto's). So what do you think? —IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me|My Wiki) 12:51, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

This is why I'd very much prefer to avoid these requests. But if you do, it's taken as consent...

  1. I personally believe there's nothing wrong with the image in the infobox. No it isn't "too close" I believe you people are taking "too close" to mean that the free space between the image. Why switch an eye-level image with one where you have to be looking up at her?
  2. I personally also believe that there is less details in Kurenai's face- I never said anything about it being clean (the signature Yūhi eyes for example are much more detailed currently) and as for forehead protector angle (what is that anyway?) since when is the position or visibility of forehead protectors been an important issue?
  3. I also personally believe that people that live in glass houses, shouldn't throw stones.

I'm not too sure why the sudden upsurge to change every infobox image but let it die...--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 13:07, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Haha lol you have a point regarding Yuhi eyes. So nevermind. Yeah I know you're not talking about the clean part, at least. Till I find characters that needs an image change. —IndxcvNovelist (Talk to Me|My Wiki) 13:25, April 16, 2012 (UTC)

Genjutsu Reversal

Shouldn't kurenai's reversing of an enemies genjutsu be made into an article. i think that its unique enought to be made into one what about the rest of you? (talk) 08:09, May 7, 2012 (UTC)

Nope, it isn't vast

I'm not sure who's doing it but someone keeps reversing the changes on this line, specifically: "But, her skill with genjutsu is so vast that it is said to rival even those of Itachi Uchiha.[10]"

The source is a databook page which specifically says "during a confrontation with Itachi, both of their B-ranked genjutsu rivaled each other".

The databook does NOT say her genjutsu overall RIVALS Itachi's. The current line is an exaggeration and feels like a total misquote (" is said...").

I made generous edits to fix that but it got reversed. I'll stop bothering this page but we should have accurate information. Nexus32 (talk) 13:48, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

I have noticed some individuals reverting even good edits sometimes.--Elveonora (talk) 14:23, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

If it's all the same to you, a source that others could see would be better than us just taking your word for it because to be honest, you aren't reputed enough here to change something we believe to be from a databook just because you put a sentence in a quotations.--Cerez365Hyūga Symbol(talk) 14:27, August 21, 2012 (UTC)

Last name

So, as SuperSajuuk said, we didn't agree on what to do with Kurenai's last name. The movie book lists her as Kurenai Sarutobi, while she was known as Kurenai Yūhi for the whole series. So what do we do? Move her article entirely, overwriting her old name? Or do we just change the intro text? Or do we do nothing and just mention her new last name in the infobox? • Seelentau 愛 23:34, January 25, 2015 (UTC)

I already tried to move it to Kurenai Sarutobi, but Snapper moved it back on the basis of that thread, despite it being archived. You are likely to go through SnapperTwo in order to rename the entire article "Kurenai Sarutobi." -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 23:50, January 25, 2015 (UTC)

My opinion is the same as it was in the forum discussion: when there are two names, both equally official, preference should be given to which is most recognizable, which in this case would be Yuhi. Meanwhile, mention Sarutobi in the lead; I don't know why Sajuuk reverted that. ~SnapperTo 00:31, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
Because we didn't have this discussion, apparently. At least I totally missed and/or forgot about that forum discussion. • Seelentau 愛 00:38, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
I reverted it because that isn't the standard we use on this wiki, nor was it the agreement. In fact, several solutions were presented, but no agreement was really reached (the only one that seemed to show agreement was the suggestion I had made, which was to say: "X <translationtemplatehere>, alternatively referred to as Y <translationtemplatehere>, is..."). --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 00:47, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
But wasn't that what Suzakun added, just using other words (taken from the wikipedia standards)? • Seelentau 愛 00:56, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
@Snapper: And why, exactly, would the most recognizable name be desired over the most recent official name when we have a magical device called "redirects"? Anyone searching for the name they recognize most is still going to get this page, and I don't see anyone suffering from a stroke because the title of the article has been renamed (correctly) to reflect her change in surnames. Just my two cents. Edit: For example, the bijū: At the time they were given names, their most recognizeable names was the nickname that had been used for hundreds of chapters to identify them (Shukaku, Two-Tails, Three-Tails, Nine-Tails, etc.) and yet we instantly changed the names. I fail to see how this difference is any different whatsoever. ~ Ten Tailed Fox Rinnegan Sasuke 02:16, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
That was my reasoning. -- WindStar7125 (talk | contribs) 02:19, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
a) #-Tails is a description, not a name. Given the choice between a name and a description/title, the name won.
b) Redirects are as much a magical solution for Sarutobi as they are for Yuhi.
c) The wiki does not exclusively cater to the most recent material, so the most recent option is not automatically the best.
~SnapperTo 04:52, January 26, 2015 (UTC)

Once more I also put my name in for the use of Yuhi. It is the most recognizable name, the one used for the majority of the series and is no less official than Sarutobi. Once more I do support the use of Kurenei Sarutobi in her introduction page going by Kurenai Sarutobi nee Yuhi or whatever it is.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 10:13, January 26, 2015 (UTC)

I think we should go by what happened in the series most recently. I mean, when a character dies, we also change his whole article into past tense, even though he was alive for most of the series. Iloveinoxxx (talk) 10:16, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
I should point out that the only medium which ever uses "Sarutobi" as her surname is a databook. In 700 chapters and nearly 650 episodes, nobody uses the databook title. So, 99% of people who read this series will know her by Yuhi, not Sarutobi. Changing the name is more likely to just confuse everyone and make some believe that the manga/anime are wrong, but not knowing why. It is enough that it is mentioned in the infobox, with an alternative in the lead (but nothing like that Kurenai Sarutobi nee Yuhi stuff, that's going to be very inconsistent and would require many characters to be updated to use that format, when it's just much easier to say alternative known as <blah> when necessary). --Sajuuk [Mod] talk | contribs | Channel 10:22, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
I do want to point out that it wouldn't be very inconsistent, as Kurenei is the only known character to have actually changed her surname. No where has Kushina been referred to as Kushina Namikaze for example and thus no "Kushina Namikaze nee Uzumaki". If Boruto's series comes out and low and behold Hinata and Sakura changed their last names then it would be a simple case of just adding that to their introduction paragraph, but no need to move the entire page.--TheUltimate3 Eye of Rikudō (talk) 11:57, January 26, 2015 (UTC)
I have not read all of the topic, and none of previous discussions, but I believe there's no need to move the article. She was known by her maiden name for the overwhelming majority of the series. I would have said that because there's no indication she ever married Asuma, that she wouldn't have his surname, but it seems a canon source says she has his surname. Just do like Harry Potter wiki did with Ginny and Hermione and Avatar wiki did with Amon and leave the article with the most recognizable name, and introduce their actual name in the opening paragraph and infobox. Sorry if I'm just restating what someone else has already said. Omnibender - Talk - Contributions 15:11, February 8, 2015 (UTC)
