:Except she didn't quite compare it. She didn't state anything, she only asked if there was another clan that had shadow manipulation jutsu. While I do agree it probably involves Yin Release, we shouldn't list it as a Yin Release for the same reason we don't list other likely uses of Yin or Yang, like Yang for medical ninjutsu and Sai's drawings, or Yin for Yamanaka clan jutsu: strong suggestion isn't the same as confirmation. ::The medical ninjutsu/Yang Release thing along with the others you mentioned isn’t quite an adequate comparison here seeing as there isn’t another comparison point, only deductive reasoning based on what Yamato said and databook entries. This technique and what the Nara clan uses is still shadow manipulation, Yin Release, hence why Sarada brought it up. I see your point nevertheless, but we don’t need to be spoon fed.—-Mina <small> talk | contribs</small> 22:02, March 8, 2020 (UTC)

:::Having a similar effect is not guarantee of similar mechanic. Deidara and Itachi both have jutsu that involve exploding clones. We don't know the exact method of Itachi's, but that doesn't mean it's Explosion Release over it being the way Deidara does it. What I'm more concerned about now, having rewatched certain scenes, is that there might be one more jutsu to create. The subtitles don't mention it, but the audio is very clear when Tsukiyo begins fighting Boruto with the sword, he says "Tsukikage Bunshin", so it's possible that this is a main fighting style-like jutsu, with stuff like the sword and the clones being derived jutsu. Yin Release

Sarada comparing it to the Nara Clans with no pushback in episode is more than enough to classify this and the sword technique as such imo. Jiraiyas toad shadow manipulation technique involves practically taking over your targets physical being, but that’s not what’s happening here as Tsukiyo/Shojoji literally manifest it themselves, which isn’t much different from the Nara clan. Not the exact same tech in terms of utility obviously, but the nature is the same and it’s far more speculative to suggest otherwise. Having a similar effect is not guarantee of similar mechanic.
