Confusion... the last two episodes i watched called all these events as being part of the 3rd war, and that the 3rd war was from when jiraya was younger and nagato was a child all the way to the time period when minato was already an adult and kikashi gaiden happened. not only did it say all this stuff, but the way the entire two episodes were done made it seem this way too, with the cut-scenes of stuff known to be in the 3rd war and the sanin finally returning to konoha as they had left at the beginning of the war... so... whatdaheck? —This unsigned comment was made by (talkcontribs) on 10:41, 28 September 2009 (UTC).

The anime screwed up. The Sannin rose to fame during the Second Great Shinobi World War, there is no doubt about that. The Third Great Shinobi World War didn't start until a few years before the start of the series, when the Sannin were already in their thirties. Since Dan died during the second war, causing Tsunade's hæmophobia, it is highly unlikely that Tsunade fought during the third war. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 11:37, September 28, 2009 (UTC)
Yeah I thought so. Was thinking that maybe the subbers just screwed it up, but the whole way the entire two episodes are done make it seem like it was all the same war too. Woulda been a loooong war lol. I did really like the episodes as a whole though.—This unsigned comment was made by (talkcontribs) .

Should we keep the part about Nagato creating Akatsuki, since it seams like it was Madara who created it. Jacce | Talk 17:06, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

Both claimed to have created it and there is no reason to assume either of them didn't. An organisation can have two founders. --ShounenSuki (talk | contribs) 20:07, September 29, 2009 (UTC)
The war was a major reason for why he worked with the organization, even if he didn't create it [by himself]. ~SnapperTo 20:38, September 29, 2009 (UTC)

cause of 2nd war

Nagato has stated that Konoha did start 2nd GSWW. Geohound (talk) 14:35, December 2, 2009 (UTC)

The treaty led to a period of peace, but after about twenty years, the economic disparity between the countries had become a serious problem. <= when/where was that said? especially the 20 years-part. Seelentau 愛 16:44, July 3, 2011 (UTC)

Shounensuki put it there, ask him. My guess is that its from Kai no Sho.--Deva 27 16:51, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
It's from the second fanbook, page 114:
"The Five Great Shinobi Countries, having been dealt a serious blow by the First Shinobi World War, entered into an armistice treaty. For a short period, there was peace. However, about twenty years after the end of the war, the economic disparity between the countries became more severe and, using the 'spreading of fair rights' as a pretext, pro-war faction began to rise in each of the countries. They promoted the expansion of territory through the use of military force. Thus the gruesome Second Shinobi World War began."

Is there a translation of the whole part of the book? Seelentau 愛 19:58, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
I remember translating it a long time ago… Can't find it any more, though. —ShounenSuki (talk | contribs | translations) 20:39, July 3, 2011 (UTC)
