  • When Naruto met his mother he thought her red hair was awesome. And he even pictured himself with it. I know that Minato's hair was passed onto Naruto and Boruto but Boruto carries the Uzumaki Clan name as his last name and Uzumaki Clan members are known for there Red Hair. And his daughter is a mini Hinata with Uzumaki genes but no red hair?

    • ಠ_ಠ ...? I suggest you ask Kishi himself.

    • Red hair is a recessive gene meaning 'both'parents had to carry the gene for their children to have the potential to have red hair. Because of this if Minato did not have this gene at all then its impossible for Naruto to have had red hair. Since Naruto has the recessive gene but Hinata obviously did not give the heritage of the hyuuga clan then their children wouldn't have had red hair because of this. Even if somehow they both possess the gene, keep in mind its recessive and not a dominant trait so it would be rare to pass on anyways. Remember, both parents much possess the gene(not red hair) for it to be possible, though still unlikely.

    • I don't think the theory of red hair is 100% right, if I were judging by hair Gaara would be Uzumaki clan also...

      You could be right since Gaara's last name is never revealed in the series(?). Not to mention they did say that the survivors of the Uzumaki Clan were spread all around the world.

      But no one from his family, is officially known as the Uzumaki clan. If he were some of the databook ' s should have revealed this.

    • I want to say this since you are talking about Gaara even though it is not related to the topic that he is talking about am I the only that feels that Gaara is a better choice for a best friend than Sasuke nothing against him but I wouldn't qualify Sasuke as best friend material.

    • Well , first off their ancestors were originally red haired . That's when both parents are from the original Uzumaki clan. Naruto is a cross breed thou as Minato is not originally from the Uzumaki clan, only Kushina is. This doesn't change the fact that Naruto doesn't inherit the Uzumaki traits such as the huge life force. Gaara was never from the Uzumaki clan as both his parents were not in that clan to begin with. Nagato has red hair coz both his parents are from the original Uzumaki clan. Same goes for Karin.

    • I know what you about Boruto having red hair, because I imagine Naruto's son to have red hair. And the only way he gets red hair is if his mother is Sakura, because the color pink mix with the color yellow that becomes red. In which he will be the next prophecy child.

      Pink + Yellow = A lighter pink.

    • Well, there is a possibilty of a third child (since apparently Kishi forgot to add the byakugan and thus says, "A third child is the solution), that child could have red hair. RED HAIR + A BYAKUGAN. Do you know how cute that would be.

    • He could fix it by having them awaken the Byakugan, then they can't turn it off so it's as if they always had it? that would be a cool fix

    • Maybe ur right the third child is the solution i would love to see it happen xd

    • I still think that they have the Byakugan. It'll be activated in the future, and since when the Byakugan is active, we see the veins around the eyes, that could be an indication that the eye do not need to be white (although "Byaku" is something related to white, I believe) in order for them to inherit it.

    • Going with the Child -> Parent -> Grandparent cycle, this is why:

      Naruto (1/4), Hinata (1/4) Kushina (1/8), Minato (1/8), Hiashi (1/8), Hinata's Mother (1/8)

      Naruto + Minato -> 3/8 & Hinata + Hinata's Mother -> 3/8, while Kushina and Hiashi are both 1/8.

      If i did the math correctly, there was a higher chance for an offspring to have Naruto or Hinata's hair colour because of their genes. At least this is my opinion on this whole thing..
